It's one of them, where you think that if one of his teams beat us in the future you'd be proper devo'd.

He will get a decent job in league 1.

He's young, he's had a L1 championship and a playoff final in what is a very short career.

Remember he was still playing less than 6 years ago.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but is there any chance of Wilder getting the job?

He looks like he could do a good job for us.

I'd take Wilder after listening to him on MOTD last Saturday.
He sounded like a Professor compared to our ****wit.

I remember Jan Molby getting the job at City based on a good interview technique.
I did listen to Wilder on MOTD last week and he did come across very well. Pity he didn't put it into practise when he got Sheffield United into the Premier League. He did sound better then I'd gave him credit for as a manager. I thought Sheff U kicked their way out of the Championship and were found out, big time in the PL. At one stage they were odds on to beat Derby's worst ever points haul of 11.

He tried to compete with a Championship squad, they only spent big money on Ramsdale and Brewster and Brewster was a bit of a disaster.

And they were at one point looking like qualifying for Europe - in fact it was only when the season was postponed due to covid and restarted that they dropped off and finished midtable - which was still a hell of an achievement. So it's not as if they got promoted and then immediately struggled, their first year was incredible.

Second season syndrome. They needed to invest further and kick on.

Agree completely, their first season was successful

Did a fairly good job at Oxford stabilising the club at a difficult time and taking them out of the Conference. Then went to Northampton who at the time where in the relegation zone in League 2 within 2 years had them going up as Champions on 99 points. Went to Sheff Utd a club floundering in League 1 took them up on 100 points then gains promotion the following season in the Championship and kept them up for a season before relegation the next. I think for a club of our size and expectation he would be perfect for us.
