I thought Munse would have been on here by now, telling us what world title winning manager they've got.
Dunno, I’d imagine it’s a bit underwhelming given the hype, but they’re likely to brave face it and say he’s a great choice lol.
Think Howe is probably a decent appointment for now for the Toon. He just needs to keep them from getting relegated and then they might be able to build from there. Never saw them bringing in a big name off the bat tbh as they are a bit of a shambles currently, regardless of how much cash they've got.
Just is doing a lot of heavy lifting there mate, he’s got no record of turning round a side in the mire in the PL. the fact his sides have always shipped goals is imo not what you need when you’re in the ****. There’s every chance he’ll take them down imo.
I was surprised he left Bournemouth when they got relegated. Overall his time there was a success, despite them taking the drop. Newcastle is a massive club and it's a huge step up, with massive expectations. I'm not really sure what they need atm as the rebuilding project is off the scale. If he can keep them in the prem, then that will be job done for this season.
I’ve never been a fan tbh, he was continually linked with us, Kenwright apparently liked him, and he’s an Evertonian. So I always watched his side and progress more than I ordinarily would have. During their 5 years in the PL their net spend was the 9th highest in the league, yet this never seemed to get mentioned and he was always lauded for keeping them up, until he didn’t. The season they went down they were wretched and he just couldn’t get them going. He could go to Newcastle and get them out of the mire with some attacking togger, but personally I’d have no dosh on it.
If he takes them down it will be a ****ing disaster. But I just don't see that they can get anybody better in atm mid season. And for where they are currently, he's a decent enough appointment. The way they went about pursuing Emery was shambolic, and the longer it went on without anybody at the helm, it was starting to look a bit desperate. Howe will get them playing better football than Bruce, so that's got to be an improvement. Whether it will be enough to keep them up, is another matter. A lot will depend on how bad the teams around them are. Norwich already look ripe to take the drop again. Burnley look like they might join them. I reckon it will then be a battle of who is more **** out of Toon, Villa and Watford
Leeds having nothing to worry about, your lot will be fine. Loved watching Leeds last season but too many good players to be involved in relegation.
