I honestly believe Hay has as much inside Knowledge as any of us on this forum, ZERO. Honestly mate he is never first with the news and he just gives opinion like the rest of us. He was a few days behind the rest on Twitter with Firpo, he was a day or two behind this very forum in putting 2+2 together with James when Ronaldo re-signed. I honestly fail to understand how he is in a media job
Was just reading a clickbait article there about Jack Clarke going out on yet another loan in January. It got me thinking back to the 'incident' where it was considered by many 'non-officials' that he's had a fit in the dugout. My question is: did we ever find out what really happened during 'the incident'?
Mr. Radz, is a top top man in my eyes in what he has done for our beloved club, the fans really appreciate what you have achieved with Leeds United Football Club and putting us back on the map. As for people using pirate satellite tv !!! how can you blame them when the suppliers like Sky & BT are ripping people off and don't have any remorse what so ever, the sports channels alone are over manned (job for the boys) along with the news presenters personnel, just look at a Sky football match alone, the amount of pundits talking verbal diarrhoea pre and post match, how much do they get paid???? well people like that Kay Burley the news presenter is on approx 200K per year, not bad eh, so what about Geoff Stelling and his puppets, what they on??? BUT who pays for it, think i dont need to go any further, SO Mr. Radz me ol china while ever tv rights are dictated by companies the satellite pirates shall operate, and i for one shall support them.
On Jack Clarke we never got to know and I suspect it was fairly serious as he was rushed to hospital and then once released moved to a hotel where Rob Pryce stayed with him overnight in the same room. Jacks mum and dad made it to the hotel that evening and also booked in but Pricey stayed with him all night. Prycey released him to his parents next morning but Pricey followed them home and made sure a prescription was filled…… On ghe bigger subject of Struijk I agree with you because I saw him play in a variety of dedensive and midfield eoles for the 23s, especially when we had Hugo Diaz as skipper and when Aapo Halme was still with us. Struijk was fairly frequently played as an 8 or 10 and ghe season we won the league and National league struijk and Kun were our regular 8&10 with Edmondson up top. You are also correct in saying Struijk whilst banned recently played as a DM and as a 8 and ate it up doing a good job. With having Cresswell on the bench maybe its time to let him have a go at 8: what harm would it do and I have seen some comments from Bielsa which actually bigs up Struijk (weekend debate tomoz)
True. Average league position of first 4 opponents = 9th Average league position of last 6 opponents = 13th (based on current table) First 4 games ppg average 0.5 Last 6 games ppg average 1.33 So similar to last season in that we do better against the bottom half teams. Average league posiiton of teams lost to = 6th So in theory we'll pick up the vast majority of our points from teams in 7th down. Whichever way you choose to look at it, in my opinion it's still not relegation form.
I don't actually know what their salaries are, but I do remember when Andy Gray was tempted to go into football management & was due to be paid £2m a year. Long story short, Sky matched it & retained him. Reason I mention it is that, because of this, I think the likes of Stelling will be well above the £200k level. All of the footballing staff have skills. Newsreaders only need to be able to read & speak, although no doubt, the showbiz adage of 'teeth & tits' might influence matters.
Was in Spain with Stelling a few years ago we were looking at properties. I went to a golf and sports complex down the coast from Marbella and in the football section (Football Village) were apartments and villas owned by famous players and the apartments were owned by football clubs. Leeds, Bolton, Liverpool and most of the top English sides owned a property. Rangers and Celtic too. Stelling was there doing his pr and marketing routine as he owned a villa there and was also paid to endorse the place. He was a good laugh as you would expect, but his place was very expensive and I have since learned he owns a few properties in Spain Italy, France and the USA. He is handsomely paid and also does after dinner speaking part of the same group who have Kamara, Merson, Harry Redknapp, Geoff Hurst..
That's where I live. That company was a bit of a scam and went bust, but has since been sold and the place is running well. Golf course is beautiful.
if we cut the sides we've played into likely finishing quartiles, just my take... everton and wolves might be interchangable etc: likely relegation candidates (bottom 5): burnley watford newcastle Norwich likely lower mid: southampton wolves likely upper mid: west ham everton likely top 5: liverpool man u So we have a weaker than average set of opponents played and we're 4th bottom. I don't think we're going to get relegated but it's closer to relegation form than any of us would like. We need some wins this month.
Remember been stood outside the clubhouse looking downhill onto the course and think that was overlooking the driving range. Looked awesome. Bought some bits from the golf shop and we had a nice lunch . Nice spot and not far from puerto banus
On the sky/bt subscription debate. I was having a discussion with the landlord of my local on just that subject. When it comes to pubs the monthly fee is worked out on footage of the property so varies from pub to pub. When he took over three years ago he quickly cancelled sky as they were charging nearly a grand a month. He currently has bt sport at £425 a month, this is a cheaper deal he got for joining so well only go up. My advice to him was to get rid. Being able to show the footie brings in no extra revenue for him. I used the Liverpool game as an example. Big match between two top European sides and no one was there to watch it who would not have been in the pub anyway. I've told him to see how many turn up to watch the manc derby on Saturday as well. He is desperate to keep the price of his beer down. Saving £425 a month would go a long way towards that. On a selfish note I did say to keep it on until after Xmas so I can go down and watch the Liverpool match on boxing day.
Can I just say that this caught me by surprise. I had never realised that Jeff Stelling was in a relationship with one of our very own. Is this why Stelling has announced that he is finishing with Soccer Saturday, have the gutter press got hold of the story that Stelling and Doc are an item
I'm fairly certain with Sky, it's a 12 month contract, the pubs have and have to give 3 months notice to cancel, or it was, not sure about BT, so he may be lumbered for the rest of the season anyway.
Yep agreed. Of the relegation candidates we've only played one at home and yet have won 2 with no defeats. Some might say that we've negotiated those potentially difficult six pointers relatively well.
