And we are still after more midfielders if you read the internet ****e..... some 'ace' at ****ing Rochdale.... I hope the sackings extend to recruitment too...
Started watching that last night, gave up after 10 minutes when the all-girl band in the saloon started doing reggae songs. I mean, I like reggae but in a western? Is it meant to be a spoof?
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city-owner-grant-mccann-6159518 Someone currently in a role? Would be interesting. I assume it actually means someone who has managed in the Championship, e.g. Wilder/Hughton. Although the next paragraph says someone out of work has been contacted. Surprised that we've sounded out someone in a job.
The one came to mind was Rooney. Big name, the administrator at Derby would be happy to lose his wages and he would probably like the thought of a decent budget.
Yeah could be, not many spring to mind as being willing to move (i.e. haven't just moved to the club they're at, or pushing for promotion).
Could see it (at least as in approaching him). Would bring media focus /exposure etc, which might well fit with the owners agenda. But personally I'd struggle if it were to be him. A very very good footballer obviously, but just don't like the bloke. Can't really see it happening anyway.
Some new details in here…mainly old news re worked https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...NWgblTEri9gyy-ArCHNvNlF46Gk1eGKGs995s-vEC2OcA
Sorry, can't give the link but McCanns post match interview was the same as the HDM article then I dont understand why people are saying it's better from him. His comments are as deluded as ever (eg summer recruitment was really good (wtf - you don't use them!!), KLP is improving, it will turn, etc etc). Same deluded stuff
Got the impression he knows his time is coming to an end, so is now starting to reveal what went on in regards to matter's off the pitch, its too late Grant the damage is done.
That's the point, he's answering questions not deflecting them finally. Of course it's too late but he may have had an easier ride if he'd done this 20 months ago.
Tbh the interview I listened to on here showed a little humility, he admitted we had chances late on and that we needed to start taking them, blamed a defensive mistake on the goal, and was pressed by Mike White regarding the transfer window, what he didn't spout was any of the excuses and rubbish which has gone before, namely its all about the performance not the result. In all fairness to the bloke I agreed with the majority of what he was saying, the only thing I took issue with was he knew the budget, so why throw all the eggs into one basket and get a plethora of midfielders that are bit part players, I stead of adding to what we had with a little guile and experience. I'm probably McCanns biggest critic, but last night he spoke sensibly, for a change.
That would be really good for a bit of feel-good factor too, to have such a big name. It'd surely bring some fans in.
All this talk of Rooney ? Why ? He has hardly torn trees up .. agreed in difficult circumstances but we need an experienced manager at the helm not a publicity stunt.
I think we could very much do with a publicity stunt. This club has had nothing but soul-sucking negativity for 7 years.
Depending on how long the take over takes so I might change my mind but I think we are heading for League 1. We should be looking at Wilder and just hope he takes the job.
10000% agree. We don’t have the luxury of time, it’s not like we are mid table. If we give Grant more time we will be cut adrift at the bottom with little hope of surviving
