not surprising really, its a bit disrespectful to ask Emery to switch clubs mid season, move over to UK, then insist on a clause in his new contract that he can be sacked if they get relegated, I'm not surprised he told them to do one. Amanda and Co aren't very good at this managerial negotiation game are they? I wonder if Mike Bassett is still available.
I thought all the gravy stains were saying get him in for the season to save them from relegation. It'll be even better if he's turned them down
The headline under one of the pictures reads.... Newcastle fans are burying their heads in hands right now after being snubbed by Unai Emery. I read it as.... Newcastle fans are burying their heads and hands right now after being snubbed by Unai Emery.
So they have a new ownership regime who, looking at EVERY story published, seem to have zero knowledge of “football” and simply think the throwing money at it will solve every problem. They seemingly have no board members with any football nouse. Say what you want about Ashley/Charley etc. at least they had football knowledge and knew how the game worked and, realistically, who to approach. Not sure many coaches turned down Ashley. (Big Sam aside) Reckon Bruce us laughing his back off in his luxury villa at the minute!!!
Just looking at this story in the Cricket about Yorkshire and seeing all the sponsorship being pulled by loads of companies, is this something else that the mags will encounter? Will big companies refuse to sponsor/advertise at the landfill? I know football is a different beast but looking at the COP26 climate stuff as well, firms are pumping billions into renewable energy and other projects - are they all looking to be seen as squeaky clean all of a sudden.
Benitez said he'd save them, failed and was worshipped. At least Staveley has accepted relegation is possible ... ... Ashley must be laughing his head off with all this.
Absolutely adored because he’d won trophies elsewhere Emery would’ve been exactly the same and we know it. Muppets.
But the richest club in the world apparently want a relegation sack clause built in, which could be triggered in 6 months.
Newcastle have made contact with Steve Bruce about a possible shock return to the helm at St James’ Park. Unai Emery is the latest manager to turn down the position since Bruce was sacked last month. Return please log in to view this image “Very surprised,” Bruce told Soccer on Sunday. “When Amanda rang this morning and asked if I’d come back, I spat my Rice Krispies all over my onesie. ‘Well, well, well, you dozy blonde ****ebag’, I said. Probably I’m not proud of speaking to a lady that way, but she’s tough as an old forklift, Amanda.” “Will I come back?” said the 60 year-old. “Only if I receive an individual apology from all 30,000 season ticket holders — or as I call them, season ticket c#nts.” “But yes, it’s an opportunity that excites me,” he added.
have to say, Ashley played a blinder here...he held out for his price regardless of the calls for him to go asap, offered nowt to the club recently as all he got was abuse. we all know he put a lot of money into the club, some say he 'saved the club' and i can't help feeling he has handed over a lot of problems he himself was not aware of when he bought them.
Newcastle have just given a blank chequebook to the man who spent £40M on Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanke.
