Hmmm. I'm not sure. Wasn't there a "plan" and manifesto around the time of the initial accepted bid? The press had got hold of it, Caulkin as well, so reliable. In the meantime, you're going through CAT. By all accounts, you know the date of the hearing and the CAT date (Sept and Jan). The result of either could be immediate approval and ratification of the deal. Meantime, the team you're trying to buy is struggling, badly. The tactics are absent, there's no training, the manager is hated. It stands to reason, to me at least, that you'd be talking to your insiders - McParland and Brown - to get at the very ****ing least a "feel" for who'd fancy coming in to do a job, with decent backing and a project. You'd go online, search some names you think - even in fantasy land - that you'd want to manage your team. FourFourTwo and the like have things as basic as lists of top managers. You then ask your advisors - "look, here's a wishlist, can you ask around your agent contacts and see who'd be up for a chat should we take this club over?" The groundwork is then started. What do you NOT do? You don't look longingly at Rafa Benitez thinking "If only". You certainly don't go back to Jose with his recent failure and downward trajectory. You sure as **** don't look to appointments who would be deeply disliked from day one (Terry, Howe, Lampard, Wilder). But what you need to do is have something ready to move fast on the second you take over, because for all the commerical opportunity, youth development and training facilities, the only goddam thing that matters on day one is what happens on the pitch. What did Amanda do? Gave ****ing Bruce the first game. Then sacked Bruce, but left Clemence, Agnew and Jones to show that they were all part of the ****ing problem when they play 9 at the back vs Chelsea. The result? They're all still in ****ing charge for Brighton!!! It's been an entire month. There does not seem to be a plan. Charnley's still in charge, ffs. It's not been a good start.
Exactly my thinking. I can bitch for days. You wait and see - if they appoint Howe, or John Terry, I can do another 50 pages on my own.
Love spaniels. Crazy but yet to meet a one with anything but a lovely nature. When I say love, I don't mean in a Roy Keane type way.
List of players we've been linked with so far since takeover. Probably more Dele Alli Alexandre Lacazette Kalidou Koulibaly Jesse Lingard Niklas Sule Aaron Ramsey Ousmane Dembele Phil Jones Keylor Navas Gareth Bale Adrien Rabiot Isco Philippe Coutinho Timo Werner Eden Hazard Anthony Martial Raheem Sterling Dusan Vlahovic Kylian Mbappe Harry Kane Mauro Icardi James Tarkowski Harry Winks Toni Kroos Brennan Johson Ismaila Sarr James Ward-Prowse Donny van de Beek John Swift Florian Wirtz Marvelous Nkamba Conor Coady Luis Diaz Nabil Fekir
Bar Phil Jones I'd take all of them, ahh **** it he can't be worse than Clark get Phil in and at least we can laugh at his ridiculous face pulling!
Brian Marwood being sounded out over the top job at Newcastle, Charnley replacement: more like what we need.
