Recently published that he is loving life in Hull, and enjoying being number 1. IMO I think hes been one of the stand out players since getting the number 1 shirt, and has done brilliantly well. We all know he is getting on abit, but for a GK, the older the better, right? He's only on a 1 year contract and I'd be suprised if he's not given an extension onto that deal. What do you think? I also love his signature which he apparently does on each thing he signs 'Basso Jesus loves you john 13/10' Brazillians ey!?
In the OWS report, he lets on that he wants to get to play in the Prem as his ultimate goal. Reading between the lines, I think he wants to get there with us. And why not? http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2489029,00.html COYT
Forgot to put the link in there, cheers for that. Think he's great, speaks terrific english. but you would expect that for someone who has been in England for that long. Great keeper.
How many of us predicted that Gulasci would have the 'mare of a start that he did & that Basso would be the first choice? I think he was only brought in as cover but he has been exceptional. He responds well to the supporters but I wish we could come up with something to replace the Myhill song. That should have been retired after the Spurs game a couple of years ago!
To be totally honest, I was a bit of hater after the Macclesfield game, I thought both goals in that game, he should of saved. However since then, he has been fantastic. and you can't help but love the guy!
I know what you mean with this but at least he has a song, must be about the only one of ours players nowadays who actually gets some attention from the fans...
I thought I'd come up with a better one the other week. "na, na-na, na-na, na-na, Basso, Bassoooooo, na, na-na, na-na, na-na, Basso, Bassoooooo" Took me ages to realise it was the Geovanni song.
Basso has really come into his own since he replaced Gulasci and he has probably helped make the defence as solid as it has been. Gulasci looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights in the Leeds game, and that uncertainty was probably reflected in the defence. Having a goalkeeper they have confidence in has probably boosted their confidence, and Basso himself has made some decent saves and it has eased all the concerns people were having over the goalkeeping spot after that Leeds game.
