I don't think that's true, Dunc. The players we are selling have all had extensive runs in the first team and that has been DF's success, whereas Alex Neil refused to play Maddison, for example. Buendia had years in the team before leaving, having agreed to stay us to help gain promotion. The system is working, just not well enough to survive in the PL yet.

    It's subjective.

I would rather be relegated than be a billionaire's play thing club .

We are the Robin Hood of English football and I believe we have a very realistic chance of promotion for the 6th time with our academy kids and new signings for 21/22.

I very much doubt that unless I take my 4th and 5th boosters I'll be allowed to enter Carrow Road again anyway.

I'm not going to give up my bodily autonomy for bread and circuses.

    This bit:

"We are selling our Golden eggs every year but without a head coach commited to playing these boys then we don't know how good they are."

That means if we replace Farke we can't force the new guy to play academy prospects.
He may want some battle hardened Premier league players in their late 20s early 30s.

Farke has bought into our academy to first team pipeline.

Sack Farke and we may not get any youth players integrated

I think the word don''t'" misleads your intent DD. It seems to say that they are not being given a chance to break through under the present regime, which is manifestly not true. Replacing it with "won't" indicates future failure to use this resource, which may happen with any managerial change.

I see what you meant now. I thought you meant Farke wasn't playing our young players. I agree that could be the danger, especially if Webber leaves as well and we go back to a 'manager' type setup.

I would agree about the facilities, infrastructure and backroom support; no question about that. Coaching and squad, that's a different matter. When the transfer window closed at the end of August, I'd guess all of us would have agreed that we were further along than last time. I don't think many would do so now though; if anything, we have regressed. The critical question is whether that regression can be reversed with DF in charge. Everybody has been hoping that he'd prove up to the challenge (some with more conviction than others, it has to be said); sadly, there's little sign of that being the case. Given which, if we must return to the Championship to rebuild, with a view to a more successful tilt at the EPL next time, the case for DF remaining in post, IMO, is not very strong.

Given that Neil Adams has been appointed second-in-command to Webber, there is no evidence of intention to move away from the current "model", with it's commitment to youth development and a pathway into the first team. Anyone who didn't buy into that surely wouldn't get far in the selection process for head coach.

    No it doesn't.

You can't argue that Farke "hasn't" put faith in his youth players that's clear for all to see .

IF we sack Farke and the replacement doesn't want to risk results for continuing the steady promotion to the first team we "don't " have a chance to judge them .

We do not & will not get to see if they are up to scratch.

In simple terms for you .

"Dixon Peters looks like a good striker but we "don't " know if he's good enough because he's only played a few minutes for the first team as a late substitution."

Farke may feel hard done by that he's tasked with producing great young talent only to be sold to stabilise the clubs finances.

In that instance Farke can't be blamed , last time we went up we had Lewis Godfrey and Aarons in the back 4 playing out of necessity .

We had the youngest average age squad in nearly every game.

If the new guy is told he has to play the kids as part of his agreement them perhaps he's being hamstrung in his role.

Especially as Webber signs the new players who are also very young.

You can get away with playing teenagers in the Championship but in the Premier league it clearly won't/doesn't work.

Of course, it's much harder to blood young talent when you are in the Prem. I doubt if Tzolis would have had so little time in the team if we were still in the Champs where he could have more time and freedom to develop. I know Sargent has been played a lot, but I think that's because he was bought specifically as a tall figure upfront so we were less reliant on possession football and throughballs to Pukki.

My choice would be bring in Bruce on a temporary advisory contract to help out Farke.

See if they can work together and get a win .

If the pair of them fail to keep us up then keep one on .

That may be totally impractical but sacking Farke who probably deserves the boot on results, seems like the nuclear option to me.

I think Hodgson has done something similar In the past

I may be wrong, but I don't see Farke as someone who would be happy working with a kind of advisor. In that sense, for all his avuncular public persona, I read him as quite hierarchical; for example, he doesn't seem to take kindly to players who contradict him in any way. It's true that he seems content to work alongside Webber but their roles are quite distinct and ultimately Webber is his boss.

I agree with you but it's not his club, he can keep banging on about little miracles and greedy for points but the stats speak for themselves.

Horrendous record breaking winless run , gf ga all pitiful

I think Farke would leave if an 'advisor' was forced on him.

Bruce’s defensive record wasn’t great at Newcastle, I doubt he would get us playing better football
