Rotherham are in terrific form, top of the current form table, and with the best goal difference in L1, having just battered Sunderland 5-1. Pre-Jacko n Jase we'd have been dreading this fixture, we may well have been bottom of L1 by now, but we now have genuine aspirations to make it 3-in-a-row. Jacko's selection dilemma is who to play on the right. If Leko is still not ready he could play Gunter and DJ, who played most of Saturday's game, Matthews and DJ, or even Gunter in the back 3 and Matthews at wing back, given that The Millers score a lot of goals from crosses. Otherwise unchanged.
They have Michael Smith an old-fashioned centre-forward, who was part of a front 3 of Pigott, Azeez and Smith who scored loadsagoals for the U-23's under Nathan Jones, but never got a chance in our first team. May have a point to prove, as did Harry Pell.

Will take a point all day long from this one.

If the lads give 100% and fight for every ball, can't ask for more really.

I always really want three points at home, but despite our return to footballing ways, I'll happily admit Rotherham are a step or three ahead of us. Still, never say die, let's go out there and take the game to them. In Jacko we trust.

Agree this is a tough one, but we all thought the same with the Sunderland game and we won that.

IF the 'new' players turn up again tonight then there's no reason we can't win this as well. Rotherham might be top of the form table but I make it that we are joint 6th, so not a lot in it from that perspective.

I'd prefer to see Leko back of course, but if not then DJ is playing for his place again so should be fully motivated to prove a point. Hopefully we don't have any further injury worries since Saturday. Pearce to keep his place for Lavelle and hopefully Matthews back for Gunter.

    2-1 Charlton

Just leaving, and I expect a very good exciting game. Probably be a 0-0 bore draw.

Another good performance fully deserved the point, would have been 3 but for Gilbey's miss. MacG made a worldy second half but apart from that we were the better team second half.

Agreed. Another excellent performance. Standouts for me were Pearce, Gunter, DJ, Gilbey (apart from the miss), Dobson, Lee (2nd half) and Washington. Famewo’s form has gone downhill but we don’t have anyone fit to give him a break at the moment. Fully deserved a point against probably the best team in the league at the moment.
Up to 18th with a better goal difference than those immediately above us.
Ref was appalling but to be fair he was just as bad for them as he was for us.

Fair and balanced comments from Rotherham manager Paul Warne. A pleasant change after that dickhe*ad Lee Johnson.

    Paul Warne post-Charlton Athletic...

"It was a really good point and it has kept our unbeaten run going.

"When you're leading 1-0 it seems worse to get a point but I thought it was two good teams going at it and we cancelled each other out.

"There was a lot of noise from the Charlton fans who are in a bit of a honeymoon period with their legend as the caretaker manager - who I think they want to get the job permanenty.

"I thought the lads stood up to it pretty well. They defended set pieces really well which I thought was always going to be a threat.

"We weren't at our glorious best tonight and if that is because of how the opposition played, then fair play to them - we can't get it all our own way.

"To come away from home midweek with 300 fans, who I sincerely appreciate their efforts. If you'd offered me a point before I got on the bus, maybe.

"Tonight, did we do enough to win the game? Maybe. I think a draw is probably fair for both teams."

That was a great show of fighting spirit last night <applause> I'm massively proud of the lads and JJ - and the covered end.
No negativity at all - except for the twat of a referee who thoroughly deserved it.
Constant support for Johnnie Jackson, and the 100% effort his players were showing, challenging strongly and throwing themselves in to block shots.

Players made the wrong choices from time to time, and one continuing weakness is the inconsistent quality of our corners and free kicks.
Some were good, but too many were wasted.

But I was cheered and impressed by the attitude of the players, and the attitude of the singing fans who supported them all the way.
Rotherham were fortunate not to lose that game, and they know it.

Not long ago opposition fans were saying we were the worst team they'd played. Millers' fans were saying last night we were the best team they'd played, and that was with Stockley being subdued after his early booking.
Too early to say, one game at a time, but we can start looking up, not down.

I think we can start looking at who we can catch now. It's a whole new place after the way things looked a while back. Gunther is the latest to suddenly look like a player we need rather than one we need to offload in january. Last night was a fun experience. Two good teams and in the second half we always looked as if we had the nous to get a goal or two. A couple of poor choices on the break, and some wayward finishing and we could have nicked that, though overal a draw was probably a fair result. You can see why Rotherham are where they are.
I will add the referee was utter dross. They should have been down to ten men but for his ability to change the rules at will, though I think neither team would welcome him refereeing another game they are involved in.

I'd like to know where they got 2 minutes of stoppage time from at the end of the first half.
Were the physios on the pitch once?
    I don't recall seeing them.
And the referee interpreted the 2 minutes as "play on until Rotherham score".

And as for him not giving that second yellow card...
If I didn't know he was not bent I would strongly suspect he was.

The Rotherham players dropping like flies as a time wasting tactic was frankly embarrassing.
Is that part of how they are 3rd in the table?
    It shouldn't be.
