Sadly not: thanks to needing to sort out his work permit (thanks, Leavers!), he won't be in charge of training until at least Thursday So pray that there's no image rights to be sorted, because that'll mean Ryan Mason has an awkward 90 minutes on Thursday...
Can’t believe it’s actually happened. There was that feeling at the back of my mind that someone else would come in for him at the last minute. amazing news. I have no doubt that he will improve us on the pitch in no time at all, whether that’s results, playing style, or both. It’s also bloody exciting to know that Levy can’t hide. Appointing him is a sign of intent. Antonio will do his bit, so it’s down to Levy to back him. This will either be a very positive relationship, or a terrible one if Levy fails to do his bit. no where to hide. COYS
Looks like some quality signings there. Kante, Alonso, Luiz, Rudiger. Then a bunch of backup signings akin to your joe harts (2 of them keepers). Then some shocking signings but everyone knows Conte was in a power struggle with our director of football which is why he sulked. The only thing you could say that was bad (conservative football aside) was when he effectively gave Diego Costa away to Atletico Madrid cause he told him to **** off and Costa went on strike
If he's half the manager I think he is, he'll get that framed and fix it to the dressing room wall, until it gets righted and he tears it down and eats it. We start again...with a bloke who isn't going to celebrate coming second.
Kante went to the highest bidder but a great signing. Also fine to bring Luiz back and Alonso and Rudiger were very good picks so I agree with your analysis. The manager/coach should define what sort of players he is missing to make his system work and the DoF should sign the best available within the budget. No need for any power struggle
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/02/how-nuno-spurs-tenure-fell-apart-in-four-months Encouraging reading about Levy’s stance here if true. Paratici and Conte should be aligned on their vision for the team given their past successes together and from what we know of the kind of manager Paratici wanted in the summer. Levy seems apparently willing to let them build the team they want. There’s been enough words from Levy over the past year though. If he doesn’t back it up with action then he’s a fool. Paratici is his man by all accounts and Conte is Paratici’s number 1 choice. They won 3 titles in Italy together and have had further success apart. If we’re to believe his words then Levy now pretty much has his dream team DoF/manager combo. If this doesn’t work then we’re truly done.
Looks like Conte’s already gonna secure his first signing as reports in Italy are saying we’re close to agreeing terms with Kessie for a free transfer in the summer. If it does get agreed, I wonder if there’ll be intent on our part to do a Holtby-esque type deal and try speeding up the move by paying a small fee to Milan in January?
One of the other players we've been linked with is his teammate, Romagnoli. He's a left-footed centre-half, who is also out of contract in the summer. In the unlikely event that we line them both up for summer moves, Milan are going to love us!
If you're talking about his transfer fee, then that's not true, as he had a release clause. If you're talking personal terms, then you're probably spot on.
Slightly odd that they omitted one of the clubs that moved Moyes on. Man Utd, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and... West Ham.
