I've been banging on for a while that football has become too low a priority for Levy. We're now at an all time low for 'customer satisfaction' amongst our fans. Saturday was that "Enough is enough" moment.

The club have employed a top coach. Now, they need to bankroll the rebuild. No more excuses, no more spending football money on non-football projects. Invest in the team or suffer your customer base making your continued tenure at the club unfeasible.

If Levy thinks that he can get away with bending or breaking his promises to Conte (and he will), he will get a nasty shock. Conte will walk and Saturday's crowd reaction will be as nothing.

    Over to you, Daniel...

For the first time in his stewardship it looks like Daniel Levy has made a signing that shows real ambition now he must back him or he’s done

it took the crowd turning on him for his eyes to open…what a knobhead

They’ve deleted it now. Someone might be in trouble for releasing it though, lol.

“I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.“

Basically shape up or **** off.

“Last summer our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent and emotionally too involved with the end of the season, so I felt that it wasn’t yet the right time to return to coaching.

“But the contagious enthusiasm and determination of Daniel Levy in wanting to entrust me with this task had already hit the mark. Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction.”
    —————-

That’s one way to put “they didn’t agree to what I wanted in the summer but have now come grovelling back” I suppose <laugh>

Fair play to Levy - I understand he didn't want Nuno in the first place. Good luck to the Conte and Levy partnership because I suspect they will be some difficulties.

Now it's time for the players to step up and prove they want to be here.

Sorry, TCM, I didn't see this until PNP quoted my post with mention of what you'd asked me.

Emery is clearly an excellent cup manager, but in terms of his domestic league form, he doesn't perform how he's expected to with the talent at his disposal. Even looking at his time away from Arsenal or PSG, it's one of the biggest gripes fans of Sevilla had with him, despite winning 3 Europa Leagues in a row, and now Villarreal are finding that out too, as he has 2 wins in 13 this season.

Valencia fans ended up getting frustrated with him because their style of play didn't improve under his tutelage, despite boasting talents such as David Silva, David Villa, Juan Mata and Ever Banega (to name a few).

In terms of coming back to England, one of the reasons why he failed at Arsenal is that he was unable to communicate ideas coherently. The squad lost respect for him, he didn't know how to handle big personalities or maturely discipline players, he couldn't buck the trend of terrible results/performances and I think he never truly recovered after the EL final battering to Chelsea.

There may be a new manager bounce initially, but I can easily see him facing similar problems at Newcastle in terms of style of play, players understanding his philosophy and handling egos.
