Our under 23s minus players now involved with the 1st team make it 8 out of 8 with a 3 -1 away win at Swansea Town. Best crop of young players for years.
Incredibly encouraging and a fantastic achievement. Now we need to make sure that the connection to the senior team follows on with what they are learning and the style they are adopting. A real opportunity for the club to change for the better without busting the bank.
I enjoyed a bit of Swans TV for a change....................... https://www.swanseacity.com/news/highlights-swansea-city-u23s-v-cardiff-city-u23s
It's easy to pull the club apart but we are starting to things right. 4 or 5 young Bluebirds in the 1st team and the u23's top of the league. What's that song? Things can only get better.
Or the only way is up. Then again there is down, down etc. Half full or half empty? Mine's a pint, full to the top, please.
Good pressing with the first 2 goals coming from winning the ball high up the pitch. Nice football from the back as well. More importantly, we're not using the games to try and get senior players like Tomlin ( yes, I know he's gone) and Vassell fit. Also the young guns looking comfortable on the ball and playing as a team not a bunch of individuals. Positive stuff.
I think that it's a team thing Hilts. I'm not sure that, as individuals, the players are particularly special. However they form a good relationship as a team and perform well together. If and when they come into the 1st team then they'll look average unless we're playing their style of football. Perhaps, in that case, we have the best man leading the first team at the moment.
