This is who Schira claims will be Conte’s backroom staff. Also says Conte’s deal is worth €15m a year which I think was similar to Jose’s.
Bergwijn ended up playing virtually as a right-back under Mourinho. Might end up shifting to another role under the next manager, possibly wingback or backup striker.
Much prefer an Italian style set which although defensive changes, often quite spectacularly, into a very fast moving attack from a deep defensive position while avoiding hoof ball.
Brian suggested wingback earlier but I just don’t see it. I don’t think he’s got the defensive work rate/ attributes to adapt there albeit I could be wrong. As for a striker, with a solitary goal in about 15 months I don’t hold much hope of that
If Conte comes that will be our 4th ex Chav manager , if Levy keeps on trying surely one will come good
Not difficult to get an ex chav manager as there have been quite a few let's hope the next one works, if not there is always Ranierii.
Manager of the month in August Winless in September Sacked in October Jobless in November Welcome to Spurs
how you keeping SD haven’t heard from you for a while. Arteta seems okay, so happy to keep him. You will get Conte but will Conte get money to spend or will he have to sell first, and it could be a fire sale at that. Kane on current form is worth a lot less than £100m and do City still want to buy him. Levy will need to solve that issue and give Conte a big wad of cash as he is a bit Joselite in that respect. No youth coming thru ?
Romano’s doing his typical same tweet different wording posts about Conte. Basically, it’s bloody close.
€100m budget for January if Italian press are to be believed. Usually I’d call bullshit for January funding but it’s hard to see Conte agreeing to join at this stage if he didn’t have a fat wad to spend almost immediately.
Just got back from work to see the news. Can only reiterate what I and others have said. Nuno was never right for the job, and is a decent bloke that didn’t deserve this. It’s really clear that there was no plan in the summer. We literally hired whoever we could get hold of easily, which was why we ended up with a “choice” so far down the pecking order. All the “DNA” stuff was simply a sound bite. It was nothing more than a panic appointment as the search had already gone on for weeks and weeks. - the players knew this, and haven’t been on board from day 1. if we bring Conte in, I am confident there will be a “miraculous” turn around in Kane’s form and attitude…. it’s going to be an interesting 18 months if we get him. In some ways, I like the idea that the deal is rumored to be a short one. The guy is a proven winner, and has recent premier league experience. Therefore if Levy doesn’t back him and do his bit, Conte will simply pack his bags. As long as Conte can start to produce results and we see signs of decent progress in our playing style, he’ll be in a strong position to make demands with Levy. And some hard truths will do us the world of good right now.
