Scunthorpe United have parted company with Manager Neil Cox and assistant manager Mark Lillis.

Tony McMahon and Paul Musselwhite have been placed in caretaker charge for Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Doncaster Rovers.

He had to go before the Scunt faithful chanted: COX OUT.

I'm disappointed in myself for not making that the thread title.

More like a leg end rather than a legend

The biggest cock at Scunny is their owner. Promised a new stadium with numerous start dates, fail, promised a refurbished stadium with numerous start dates, fail, new housing on their surrounding land, fail. His director son called complaining fans morons. He's had more coaches than Wallace Arnold, a committee is in charge of transfer dealings, and their chief scout is his 23 year old son, hours of football experience there! Eleven million quids worth of debt run up, and ownership of their ground and surrounding area transferred to another company.

Saw Neil Cox play for Scunthorpe at the Old Ground against City some years ago. He was an excellent player
A class above the rest. Pity he’s struggled as a Manager. Wish him all the best.

This is what really pissed the fans off, losing ownership of the ground, which his company owns now. Though he did recently come out and say at some point it would come back to the club, but I am not sure anyone believes him.

He paid £11m for the ground, far more than it was worth, leaving them debt free (and leaving him with a development site not linked to a heavily in debt football club).

I don’t like the bloke, but it was a sensible move commercially.

I'm not aware of the details, just what I have seen and heard comments wise from their supporters.

Shuffling of papers, much like the same trick 'other' owners have used via group tax relief, in Scunny's case worth well over £3m. It's always jam tomorrow with him followed by yet another failed promise. I like the very apt anagram of his name Scunny fans use, Ernest Pawn! :emoticon-0100-smile
