I fancy us to bounce back albeit to the tune of a 2-2.draw and a more spirited performance. These 2 games were always going to be tough and we are still in the mix
Think that’d be a very good result. 2 of last season’s championship teams away in a row. If we’d been spirited and disciplined and lost a tight game 2-1 on Saturday I think a lot of the negativity wouldn’t happen. We deserved to be heavily beaten though (although I don’t think we deserved that against Portsmouth but that’s a different story) Hopefully it’ll be a little blip. A good 2-2 would be good fir me. Although, if we’re 2-0 up I might be less happy!!
Hope we show more organisation and fight with over 4k travelling down after Saturday's shambles otherwise it will be a very long break from League action with the cup games and international break. Narrow victory 2-1 for me.
People would be happy with a point after losing our last 2 in the league? Not a chance. We need to get back on track properly. 3 points!
Think we need to grind something out to stop the rot. Last 5 league games have been poor apart from beating a very, very poor Crewe team It's all well and good saying we have a "way" we want to play and sticking to our "principles" etc but you have to be pragmatic. There would have been nothing wrong if picking a defensive team on Sat at to look to frustrate Rotherham. 4 of the last 5 games we have started poorly and paid the price. Someone on twitter made the point we have lost 4 games this season, all to team who play with wing backs - so maybe there is something there - too many crosses coming into the box, maybe it's time to pick wingers who work just as hard going backwards as they do forwards............
Just posted this on the Rotherham thread. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...up-in-sunderlands-data-after-rotherham-defeat
Maybe we need to start playing 3 at the back away from home. Hoffmann Alves Flanagan Doyle Winchester Evans Neil Cirkin Embleton Stewart O'Brien
Every game is different and they will probably raise their game against us as most do. They’ll likely (and rightly) see us as rivals for promotion. Hopefully the lads will be up to the task. I’ll be sat with my goal notifications on and my phone connected to my watch so I can see what’s going on without looking like I’m not interested in the gig!!
So, according to that and numerous votes, o’nien was our second best outfield player? Haven’t seen it but that tells a lot!
Sheff Wed are the draw specialists so far this season we need to bounce back hopefully 3 points and decent performance
I think we will bounce back tomorrow. 1-2 to the lads. Gooch back in for Dajaku, Pritchard in for Geads and Embo out wide. Evans in for Onien and possibly Alves for Doyle who may need resting for a few games.
