8 points from safety, Vs a possibility that a win next week takes us out of that bottom 3. I think it's a game where the clichéd "6 pointer" can be used in earnest.

The performance is irrelevant at this point, we need a result.

Pinkun prediction. Personally I think that central midfield would offer all the solidity of a wet paper bag, but I like the attacking intent.

That's why we won't have a clear indication of our chances until the halfway point.

I'd start with Sargent instead of Tzolis for his defensive skills as well, with Christos an early sub around 65 minutes.

Early shout, But I think Farke has lost it?

Pleased to see Dowell get a chance, I imagine he'll play narrower than shown here, with Rashica outside him.

But the solution to not liking our LBs is to just not play one?

I think it's going to be 3-5-2 again rather than the 3-4-3 shown here, with Omobamidele on the left of the back 3.

I guess the idea is that between Rashica, Omobamidele and McLean there'll be enough to cover the LB slot? Up against Raphinha though, I don't love it.

Wouldn't be surprised to see it more resemble a 4-4-2 in attack, with Dowell RM and Rashica LM. Omobamidele moving into the LB slot.

The more I look at it, the more that would resemble the Brighton system I tried to fit to our players the other week.

Rashica given loads of freedom to get forward as Cucurella was for Brighton, with Omobamidele covering LB in the same way Dan Burn was against us despite nominally being a CB.

Might require Aarons to play as a more orthodox RB than RWB and curb his attacking instincts.

Dowell ends up in a Buendia role, free to roam inside. McLean and Normann need to be very disciplined.

That could be tactical, as both of Leeds' WBs are AMs not FBs. Rashica and Aarons may be given special responsibilities to mark them as most of Leeds' attacking play goes down the wings. Rashica may have been given the nod over Giannoulis because of his counterattacking qualities with McLean providing cover when Milot goes forward. It's a gamble, certainly, but it's also the 'go for it' approach people have been calling for.

As I continue to be baffled by this lineup....could it be a return to 4-2-3-1

    Krul
    Aarons Kabak Hanley Omobamidele
    Normann McLean
    Sargent Dowell Rashica
    Pukki
    ?

Omobamidele at LB would be a rogue shout but fit with a need to rigidify that flank. Aarons, Hanley, McLean, Dowell and Pukki slot back into familiar roles?

Perhaps DF has puzzled Bielsa as much as he's puzzled us! <laugh>

    Let's hope it works!<cheers>

I think it might play out as more of a 3-4-1-2 with Dowell in the number 10 role behind Pukki and Sargent

Yes Robbie, we're on Pacific time. It's more noticeable on a globe than a map.

Is this a "I am right and you are wrong" statement from Farke to the fans?

That powershot from 2 yards away from Normann that he couldn't avoid penalty.
Leeds commit a blatant one V.A.R give nothing.
