I doubt he knew just how bad some of our players' efforts would be. It's a big job and he'd be silly to turn it down, but I'm sure he'd do it now if he knew.
I blame him a lot for the efforts of some. I think his dull and uninspiring attitude is rubbing off and his style of play is just awful, that can’t be helping. If Son isn’t trying that speaks volumes. He’s one of the most professional players at the club and he’s barely broken a sweat recently. The two new defenders grafted and worked harder than almost everyone else on the pitch and that’s probably because they feel they have points to prove and want to impress, few more weeks under this bloke and they’ll likely be playing as if they’re on holiday with the rest.
I don't think Son's lacking in effort. He's not playing well, by any means, but he's still trying. He missed several good chances yesterday, swapped sides and kept going. Nothing came off, but I didn't see a lack of effort. Kane, on the other hand, strolled around for most of the game and looked utterly disinterested. Everyone slagging off Davies for their first goal, but Kane and Lloris were also at fault, somehow. Ball comes out of the box to a Utd defender and he virtually walks towards him, then walks away: https://streamwo.com/jlwergt No way Lloris should be getting beat from that angle, either. Made 1 save, apparently. No idea what it was.
Make sure you play something to cheer you up, mate. I highly recommend Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave or maybe The Smith's!
Our best hope of getting Kane back lays with Southgate - He should be nowhere the England squad on current form. maybe if he was omitted and thought that he might miss the world cup it would focus his mind.
He’s making barely any runs with the ball, keeps getting it and then just turns around and he looks clueless when in possession. The usual Son would often be testing FBs and making runs off the ball but seeing as we just don’t attack in this system he probably hasn’t had chance to do the latter. Emerson tried taking more people on than he did yesterday, just as Romero made more meaningful accurate forward passes than Lo Celso and Kane combined. As for their goal I thought it was initially a brilliant finish by Ronaldo, your link isn’t working for me though, albeit I’m quite glad as I don’t wanna watch it anyway really
Wasn’t sure how it would’ve sounded from the TV, it felt twice/ thrice as loud though in the ground. It was arguably the biggest boo of the game. A lot of the crowd had left at the final whistle though, had it been full that probably would’ve been deafening.
Tbh I thought he'd gone as low as he could in my estimation with his behaviour at the end of last season and over the summer but full credit to guy...he's just kept on digging
Seriously can't see anyone meeting Levy's valuation, even with a discounted price. I cannot see anyone willing to pay anywhere near £100m given the whole situation.
