Think that may be a bit extreme, even in Glasgow

The flag-waving Little Englander Brextards must be made an example.

Macron is using every means to ensure Brexit fails, and wants to harness the EU which currently has its own internal problems dealing with a schism with member states in the East. It's barely about fishing.

Of course, they're all Johnny Foreigners so must all be right.

They really don't need to demonstrate that Brexit has damaged Britain. Just ask the OBR.

That'd be the same OBR that's just had to upgrade its growth forecast by a third, and downgrade its unemployment forecast. Their latest report is pretty meaningless because it's predicated on nothing changing - government not changing strategy, not bringing in new policies, no new trade deals etc.

The same OBR that Sunak just based his budget on.

Are you able to tell me with a straight face that you think Brexit has been a success?

I think most of us, if we were honest and set our confirmation bias to one side, would admit that in most cases the truth tends to reside somewhere between two polarised opinions.

The rights and wrongs of this fishing row are very much secondary to political points scoring by both sides.

P.S. Macron is a massive tool.

Too early to say, Strolls. Nobody much likes change. Revolution is always more disruptive than evolution. Too early to judge, but I’d vote for it again if required.

Early Brexit is going along fine. We were 40 years or so in the EU, so there's going to be period of adjustment. Northern Ireland was always going to be difficult. Anything involving NI takes years to resolve.

Transport issues will be ironed out within a year or so.

I don't sense anyone in the UK is desperate to rejoin the EU, apart from a few extremists like that Femi bloke. The EU has its own big problems in the East.

Macron is intent on causing problems for Brexit, because he lost that big submarine contract. With any luck, he'll be gone next Spring.

That's exactly what I've been trying to say, Ubes. I have no idea who's in the right over the fishing dispute, I'm just not going to automatically assume that the UK is blameless, as some are too quick to do.

I think the French are wrong on the fishing. All the rest of the EU and some French trawlers, have provided evidence that they have previously fished around Jersey waters. They are obliged to provide this evidence under the Brexit agreement.

55 French boats can't supply any evidence, most probably because they haven't fished there, but want to keep the right to. That's not what the Brexit agreement says.

It's interesting that the EU Commission has not come out in favour of France on this technical issue.
