Oof - that was hard. We looked so confident to begin with and it just drained away. Need to be mentally stronger.

Not sure if blaming Henderson is fair. He scored the opening goal and he was not behind the lack of investment in midfield this Summer, a lack of investment that is costing us already. We do not have the strength in depth needed to compete when a few of our top players are out.
Very disappointed at today’s result, a massive let down after last week

Ironic that last season we had so many midfielders just shoved them at CB when we lost all our defenders.

Now all our midfielders are dropping like flies

Not saying much but Hendo was our best midfielder. Ox did precisely ****all, Jones wasn't much better either.

Actually, Keita was probably our best midfielder despite only playing a small part!

Whole midfield was w@nk. Henderson was poor, Jones non existent, Keita injured and then we fall back to Chamberlain ffs.

The MF seems under clear instructions to be more offensive this season rather than the mainly conservative way they have played in last few years .

Fabinho was a big miss but we have to be better able to cope without him as he does miss a few. It is a lot to expect Milly to compete week in week out at his age and Nabi is a sick note. Ox has been poor since his injury. We should have brought another quality midfielder this Summer

Not the end of the world. Mané's disallowed goal looked okay to me, seemed to hit his arm pit and deflect in. Their first was a cracker but it was our throw not theirs. Doesn't VAR go back to first phase of play?

You are right, not the end of the world just a big let down after two great results. Still unbeaten, second and ahead of City but Chelsea are looking strong

Chelsea's run of poor results are waiting around the corner. City have had shock losses, we've let leads slip into draws, Chelsea's turn next. :bandit:

Chelsea got beaten by City too. They will just walk past all the lesser teams though as they can't get through them like Mourinho days

Disappointing result really, especially after leading and given Chelsea winning and City getting done over, also since we could on the back of that be only a point off Chelsea and four ahead of City. Don't know if we're just not finding a way to beat these teams like Brighton, Brentford et al or they're just having their best days against us. Have to hope that Chelsea and City either can't find a way through the full match or these teams who always seem to peak against us do the same when they play them. Things can change of course but Chelsea look ominous, we've already drawn too many games, City look good but fallible.

Its amazing how some guys can do one thing all game.and get away with murder.

I think klopp.moved ox about 5 times. Putting mane wide right to left him hang round the left wing.

There was nobody tracking runs at all so brighton had a great time with us.

I put brighton top half a few weeks back but they were not playing like it lately and we walked through them when the midfield was actually working. If I keep them top half our record is now dire against the top 10. No body wins the title drawing 40% of their games. We need an improvement

Disappointing but we remain undefeated and placed well. Not the best of games for a lot of players.

    Yeah, could be worse

Could've been 3-3 or really any score.

I'll say it now though, ox must go. Whatever about the frustration of seeing a sea breeze floor keita the lad gets pressing and intercepting etc. Ox just doesn't suit this team at all.
