Gordon Marshall was abused for not chucking the ball in the net to let Celtic win the title? He said that?
Yes he did. He was hit with the pathetic "Call yourself one of us" routine and celtc players demanded he let them score.
"There are some Celtic players who I have no sympathy for. I was annoyed and outraged by some of the stuff that went on. I don't know what the Celtic players were hoping for and I will take whatever was said about my performance as a back- handed compliment. I was Kilmarnock's captain and I wanted to keep a clean sheet if possible. I knew I wouldn't get a pat on the back whatever happened during the game but whatever was said about me is water off a duck's back. My emotions still haven't settled down and I don't expect to get back to normal for a few days yet. But I am very disappointed with the attitude shown to me by certain Celtic players." On Being Jeered at the End…."I wasn't aware of the jeering because I was applauding the Kilmarnock fans as I was leaving them for the last time." Gordon Marshall As for the booing of Marshall by Celtic fans and the "abuse" he got from Celtic players Frank, that was not because he did not "throw the ball into his own net", that was for his blatant time wasting throughout the match which you never saw because you would have been watching Dunfermline? He's clearly alluding to the abuse I've mentioned. I've seen him mention this in a different interview to the one you quoted. After Sutton's conduct I'm amazed you can actually sit there and defend your team's actions that day. You're right I didn't see his alleged timewasting, as I was too busy watching the champions lift title # 50 I did however see Alan Chimpson's spazzy face in the paper the next day after he'd missed the late penalty
Htf , how does your team get on without Scottish refs in Europe , is it one win in 28 games!!! Even the most neutral fan will admit we've had horrific decisions against us in Europe , penalties wrongly awarded against us include man utdx2 , juventus, braga, utretch , anderlecht, ac milan , Udenese , I can accept these decisions unlike in Scotland where it is clearly corrupt. As for soft penalties last day of season , Rangers when needed was a total joke for an outragous dive
what about your soft penalty at ibrox that could of and should of (cheers thammi) won you the ****ing league you pig ignorant moron
Frank the tank , last season of the 17 penalties only two were of the soft varity, of the five we conceded three were wrongly awarded , which one of them clearly the referee never saw for a blatent dive , the worst penalty I've seen in 35 years of watching my team . It's also the timing of penalties , 5/6 of them were against Aberden when we were already 2/3 goals to the good , your penalties come when they are needed even this season look at your two late penalties at Inverness
what about at ibrox in the 82nd minute at Ibrox to wrap up the league title? score at the time? 0-0 good old sammy
we mustn't start letting the facts get in the way of all this made up celtic garbage. every team in scotland know what to expect when playing celtic. refs and linesmen helping them at every turn. opposition players being sent off just because they were the one standing nearest the celtic diver. penalties awarded for the slightest brush against one of them in the box. (or in the case of mcgeady, for someone nearly brushing against them) bring in neutral match officials in scotland and celtic will never win another thing.
Bring in neutral refs and officials Celtic would win the treble every season , remember it was the refs that kept your club alive two seasons ago , those old firms games your 100% percent record , you cheat in every one !!!! 6 honest mistake in 3 games is some going
harry are my posts invisible? please explain the farcical penalty you were awarded in th 82nd minute of the most imporatant old firm game of last season?
Trevor I 've admitted our penalty was soft that day , but compare it to the one you got in the first old firm and ask any neutral which one was softer and 100% will go for Broadfoots dive which the ref never saw , which makes it even harder considering it was Wullie Collum , who later on last season committed three honest mistakes in one game ( unheard of for Rangers) at Hamilton which cost us two points , which was the difference from winning the league or losing it , or put it another way the difference from Rangers being alive or bust , after watching that program last night that happy day is nearing
Did Celtic not draw at CP the one time neutral officials were brought in? Treble winners every season indeed
Can you not just answer a straight question with a straight answer, none of this pish about oh but Rangers got this decision and then they got that decision. The fact is no matter how many decisions Rangers got last season Celtic had a penalty at Ibrox to win the league and missed it, Celtic had one hand on the league title and made an absolute **** of it. You don't see it that way though, you just want to blame everyone else
that wasnt my point harry. my point was youe penalty was much much more important and it came later in the game. FACT
