Rumours and press speculation over the last few days would suggest that our manager (I'm sorry but I can’t bring myself to call him by his name these days) has at last had a lobotomy reversed and it seems may well go to the Reebok this weekend and actually try and win a game of football. Now, alien as this will be to him, do we now embrace the change of heart as a good sign and get behind him or do we just have confirmation that the man is a clueless tube forced into a humiliating back track of tactics after telling us all we know **** all season, for wanting Sess on the wing, Elmo not in the team and 2 recognised strikers up front?

I guess there are no hiding my thoughts because this man is ruining my enjoyment of following SAFC these days and I just can’t stand listening to him or reading anything he has to say. It’s either bull ****, nonsense, abuse or excuses with him and I've long had my fill. He is a small town, small club manager with limited ability and ideas, who is drifting along in a high profile extremely highly paid dream job imo.

In my 36 years, no other manager has been able to enjoy the riches of our now financially well off club, settled boardroom, superb stadium facilities and training facilities second to none in the UK, cash rich league from SKY TV investment, record club sponsorship deals and above all a fan base that has largely stuck by him during some trying times recently. Imagine how Alan Durban, Denis Smith or Peter Reid would have been able to operate given these great times. **** me Mick Buxton could have done better with this scenario.

So, what is our reward for living in these times with him as manager? He slag’s us all off in the local and national press for being slightly unhappy at being 4th bottom of the league after 8 games, losing yet another derby game (this time at home) and knocked out of the first cup competition this season in the first 2 weeks. The man is a twat and a fat useless incompetent one at that.

If we go to Bolton with an attacking line up that most of us have been asking for, for several weeks now, and wins then all it says to me is what if. We could have beaten the craas, beaten Brighton, Swansea (who were awful), Norwich (a point at least) and WBA (one of the worst teams I have seen for a long time) and be in a far better position going into Saturdays game.

All we hear are lame pathetic and quite frankly embarrassing excuses from our manager as to why we have been ****e for 9 months now and no answers. We all apparently know **** all because Barcelona play with no forwards either. I do wish someone would tell numb-nuts that Barca also has 7 or 8 players who form the best national and club side in World football. We have Elmo, Richardson and Turner.

Do I want us to win Saturday? Of course I do, I’m a Sunderland supporter after all but if we get beaten and beaten heavily which results in 'him' being sacked before the Villa game, then I cant say I will be that unhappy either. If we are to lose, I hope it is by 4 or 5 goals so that there can be no hiding place for the twat this time and we can move on with a new man at the helm for the visit of Bent and Aston Villa next week.

My heart says draw at best. My head says we will lose but absolutely nothing in my make up says we will win and that’s extremely hard to stomach for a Sunderland fan these days. I want to be positive but what evidence is there for such optimism under this bloke?

Whilst agreeing with most of what you say mate, i just cant get my head around the buxton bit (i know its tounge in cheak). I think both Dennis Smith and Reid would have excelled with the backing bruce has had. In their day of course, i think both of them might struggle with todays pampered lot!

I agree cest and you've saved me creating a thread as you've covered my points and then some. What i would add and what was the thrust of my view was 'Is a draw the worst possible result for Safc tomorrow?'

A win and its 3 extra points on the board and some breathing space.
Lose and we may finally get rid of Bruce
Draw and this farce just drags on another week.

I actually think a draw would be more detrimental to our season than a defeat and Bruce getting sacked.

Great article yet again Cest <ok>

If as rumoured, he goes with a 4-4-2 formation, then I can see us taking all three points tomorrow. My major concern is his refusal to believe that anything other than 4-6-0 or 4-4-1-1 is a winning formation. For that reason, I think he will stick with 4-4-1-1 tomorrow until we are loosing the game yet again, which is when he will wait until 70-75 minutes have passed before changing tactics <grr>

With a bit of luck he will win the match tomorrow, but he has one hell of an uphill struggle to ever win back the faith of so many disillusioned Sunderland fans that just want him gone.....

    ...at ANY cost!

Personally I wonder what MicMac night have achieved with a bit of Dosh, when we were promoted one season I believe he had £4m in total to spend. Jon Stead was a buy IIRC and some say they saw him score a goal once.
