So what if they do? Would it not mean more when the players responds to that media with "yeah, what's your point?" The media IS the problem. Is for a lot of things. People should question them, not the individuals they're reporting about.
Tom Daley seems to be able to live somewhat. I am not sure it's worse or not as a celebrity of if actually being an inspiration means he is immune form some stuff but others are just waiting for him to make a mistake and attack. Celebrity = these problems. Anyway. The clubs and big names are falling over themselves right now to praise him
I'm only saying that if they can't handle the possible abuse then don't speak out. I'd say it's far, far more damaging to have to handle being abused for what you are than it is to struggle with whether or not you should come out. The effects of the former could be catastrophic, the latter unknown. All of this is only football related.
