Sean is like Bambi on ice. He never seems to be able to keep the ball longer than 5 seconds. Gives it away in dangerous areas too!
----------------Wilson----------------- Joelinton---------------------- ASM -------Almiron--------Willock------ ----------------Hayden---------------- Lewis---Schar-Fernandez--Manq -----------------Dubs--------------- This would be mine. Obviously I'd like a more natural central midfielder than Almiron. He also lacks discipline to really play in there. But Jonjo is a disgrace, Hendrick a massive ****hawk, and Sean Longstaff is just bang out of form sliding towards being a write off. I'm disappointed by the lack of appreciation for Big Joe's efforts on this thread. You're a right set of ****s. Bless the big fella, he's trying his ****ing heart out and actually doing some decent stuff. Wilson and ASM benefit from a presence like him too. Creates more space to work in as he has a knack of drawing players towards him.
But how do you and others respond to Matt Ritchie being one of the biggest creators of chances though? That stat cannot be ignored. 3rd most created chances in the league? That doesn't come from nothing.
Still though. Who do we have in our team that's really good at crossing balls? Manq is ok, but that's it besides Ritchie. Max's passes and low balls are ok but he doesn't seem like the sort that will deliver a cracking cross onto the head of someone else though.
I think Sean longstaff is better on corners but that's obviously wrong. If Fraser plays and I hate him I think he's utterly useless he has a decent cross
A lot of wing backs are there to go forward and not great at the back. Personally I think Rafa did a great job in putting Ritchie there. A full back in a four he certainly isn’t though. Yeah Lewis might be worth a go but as pointed out Ritchie is creating chances so why change if playing 3/5 at the back. We really only have one out and out left back and that’s Dummett but sadly he’s injured far too much.
You called it. Has 5 at the back ever worked for us. Honest question. It just conceded more possession.
It works at times... The switch to 4 has won less games I suspect. We've got too many crap players. The league is getting tougher. Ritchie needs dropping, but then again so does 70 % of the side.
I don't give a **** about stats mate. I just go on what my eyes tell me. And my eyes tell me Ritchie's legs have gone and he is being targeted by the opposition as a weak link. I like the lad, his attitude is good and he tries his level best at all times. I just think his level best has dipped significantly now. Stats always lack context for me.
I agree with mr pouch here. He has done well for us but he’s not a left back and he hasn’t got the pace for right wing. Time to move.
The problem here is the lack of marking and positional okay from the whole defence but the left hand side is particularly ****e
Close this thread and put Tash in a mental asylum - Ritchie is utter dog ****e and that's being slightly harsh on dog ****e. Lower half championship player - his chances created are because he takes set pieces not through his graft down the wing and delivery in - He is the WORST LB I've seen in 25+ years supporting the club. I'd include Jack Colback, Vurnon Anita and any other non LB Pardew played in the position in that by a factor of 10 Trillion.
