I don’t want to speculate on a player’s mental health. That doesn’t mean that overeating and not ‘taking care of yourself’ properly isn’t a symptom of mental health problems though. Even though they’re paid millions a year, it’s easy to overlook just how difficult and stressful being a pro athlete can be. Getting a serious injury can be devastating. Cameron Stewart is a prime example. Never recovered properly from his injury and never had his talent honed. His career was effectively on a downward-spiral by his early 20s. He now works in a pharmacy. Just goes to show how precarious a career in professional football can be. If it can happen to a former Man Utd youth player and one of our stand-out players in the Championship under Pearson, it can happen to anybody.
As someone said, it can be just as much about getting the right people around you to guide you in the early years of your career. Sounds like he needs better support around him to get him back on track.
Before he went back to Scotland, someone who lives near him was taking a pop about him having pizza delivered every night (an exaggeration no doubt).
And the 2021 award for Most Impressive Case of Speculation in the Face of a Lack of any Tangible Facts goes to... Actually you'll all have to share it. It's impossible to speculate on who has speculated the most.
Previous awards were for the 'Harry Maguire's head is totally ****ed' thread which appeared after a handful of matches and even less mistakes from him, oddly said thread soon slipped off the pages.
Combine that with "Who's the person who always needs to make 20-30 additional posts to attempt to defend the statement made in their original post" and you'll have a shoe-in winner. No need to make a book !
Nobody said it did!! Yet again, why on earth do some posters keep replying with statements that were never said in OP's?!! truly bizarre.
