Parachute payments means a relegated club starts with £100m more than any other club in the league. When you think our revenue from gate receipts would have been £7m back in the day its grossly unfair on a big club like Leeds.
Lads, we are too busy focusing on parachute payments. The big problem is WHY we have parachute payments. We have parachute payments because the financial rewards between the PL and Championship are too far apart. Its massive jump in TV and advertisement revenue. Too big. Until that gap is closer then the Championship will always be an unfair playing field.
I can see why they bought in parachute payments, so the players on PL money won't bankrupt on club that goes down. Wouldn't the fairer way be, that it's a standard contract that players at PL clubs that get relegated go on to Championship level wages.
Yes and all clubs now use escalator contracts to make sure they cannot go bust. Simples: If you get us promoted you will receive x% uplift in wages. If we get relegated you wage will reduce by x% therefore no issues. In the prem your marketing strategy gets an uplift and when you get relegated your marketing falls back in line.
After their drubbing last weekend, I would imagine their emphasis will be to defend at all costs and to hit us on the break to score first. It could be like the Watford game this, but if we're more clinical and get a goal in the first 30 minutes or so then we have a great chance to get a couple more as they will need to come at us. All about the first goal this game, they score first, shut up shop it could be a frustrating afternoon.
End product is all thats needed from the creative players out wide and in the middle. At least give whoever is up front a sniff of something
This is a must win game, simple as. A defeat is unthinkable against such a poor team and surely would drain belief out of players and the fans alike.
Bielsa has confirmed that even with Bamford playing we would not be scoring more than we are. The problem he says is no end product into the attackers. He is frustrated and he hopes things improve, and form of some players improves
What about 90th minute talkinfg of bets, was looking at tomorrows odds, Watford had a great win last week, at home v Soton who are below them with only one win, yet Soton are favourites, what do the bookies know? Anyway, I thought Watford 2/1 was too good to not to have a go, nice double with Plymouth who are a generous 7/4 too (where's the fingers crossed emoji, when you need it)
He's absolutely right!!!!! The opposition have cut off routs to Bamford. I must have said that a dozen times
