Because in a strange way, Amess was prophesying his own death. And because without proper integration, you have no social cohesion. And that can be catastrophic, as we saw in 1930's Germany - and we are beginning to see in France now. Once a native population feels its culture is being stolen, it's a dangerous situation.
Sorry, are you saying that the situation in the U.K. today is similar, because of immigration, to Germany in the 1930s?
No, definitely not, although lack of proper integration can foster extremism. I think France is closer to race problems than the UK, and next year we may see a pretty extreme right wing President in Zemmour.
The Office for Budget Responsibility calculates that Brexit will “reduce our long run GDP by around 4%”. By comparison, Coronavirus is estimated to have caused a short-term 2% reduction, over and above the effects of Brexit. One of these things happened to us, the other we chose.
When the woke movement tries to erase rather than clarify history, abuse academics for reasonable beliefs, try to have them sacked etc, I feel it. But as I said in an earlier post, the problem is more acute in France where they have a larger and faster growing Muslim population.

The UK are following the Trade and Co operation Agreement to the letter. This is all about Macron and forthcoming French elections.
The UK says it's following the agreement and the French say differently. How do you know who's telling the truth? Why would anyone believe anything this government says?
The EU Commission has been overseeing the matter and has offered no support to France. Under the agreement, EU fishing boats have to prove historic fishing practices in UK waters to get a UK licence. Most have, and have got a licence. 55 French boats cannot provide any proof whatsoever and the suspicion is they are trying it on to get a licence.
