So not much has changed from when I wrote the above, nigh on six months ago. It's very clear what the French fisherman need to do, supply their log books. Currently there is somewhere between 52-55 licences pending authorisation, if they give the Jersey authorities the log books. In the meantime 'some' have been issued with temporary licences.

I heard a remark today, which stated that what we needed to understand was leaving the EU has consequences, yes that is correct, it does have consequences for the FRENCH! Either hand over the log books or quite simply you can't fish. If you cut off the electric or block ports, then that will just be deemed as an act of aggression.

The French just don't seem to understand they can't fish where they want anymore, and if a wind farm has taken your patch, that's just called tough shhite, so losing log books aint going to help you.

If the law, and situation, is so clear it should be easy for our government to resolve things.

I hope they do but don't have much faith, there's been ample time to have had these things in plaice.

The former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith has blasted French President Emmanuel Macron after a British scallop trawler was seized by authorities in France amid a bitter row over post-Brexit fishing arrangements. Sir Iain dismissed the actions of the French President as "window dressing" ahead of the April 2022 French Presidential Elections. He went on to argue that the EU themselves have already told President Macron he "does not have a leg to stand on."

The law is very clear, show the Jersey officials your log books, no log books means no fishing.

Irexit calls explode as Irish turn on EU: ‘Taxpayers being robbed by Brussels’
IREXIT calls have exploded in Ireland after The Irish Freedom Party claimed that "taxpayers are being robbed by Brussels".

The attack came after Irish broadcaster RTE noted that the country is currently receiving €915million from the EU recovery fund. In a damming reply, the IFP hit back: “They leave out the fact that we are paying in a whopping €18.7bn.”

They didn't write it, they just said there was a concern there might be empty shelves in the future.

Nothing in the article says there are empty shelves, just fears that it's possible.

The headline is just click-bait and not a quote or a fact.

Your post was misleading, no one said there are empty shelves.

    End of your story.
