instead of being interviewed every 5mins for their courage etc. i'm sure it does takea bit of bottle to come out, but it would be a lot easier if there wasn't media circus evertime some one did.

I've personally not been around many gay people...While I was in Uganda, one of the lads in our voluntary group was a Burnley football loving, pie eating, bitter drinking gay. Was one of the soundest lads I've met, had a real harsh sense of humour and hated the '***' stereotypes attached to homosexuality. What surprised me was how alien heterosexuality seemed to him.

As for if one of our players came out, I actually think we'd take to him more...He'd not just be gay, he'd be our gay..."Oh Colocinni I'd let you shag my...errr....Dad?"....Maybe needs a little work, but you get my point.

I;d probably have less 'homo-erotic' feelings for cabaye, but other than that no.

I'd like them even more, because it would mean that they had the guts to stand up for what they believed in and who they were.

    Is Jenas a bender?

I have a gay mate who has red hair and freckles, common in Ireland we call him Annie(as in film) but only a bit of banter and he's a great bloke.A Cork hurler(Irish game) came out few years ago he got plenty of stick but harmless fun, nobody seemed to mind and I would regard some aspects of Irish life more narrowminded than in the UK.

This. Definitely. It's like women who act macho. The subtle gay guys are fine, but sometimes the ones who are "out there" are just a bit too much for me!

Wouldn't be arsed, butt you'd get the asses who would shout ****ty things, and that would be a complete bummer!

Sex would be awkward, what if you both bent over ready to take it?

    Isn't Gomez gay?

It wouldnt change my view of any player at all. I dont see why it should... If they give everything on the pitch, thats all id care about. I dont think i know a single gay lad that could kick a ball properly however. Plenty of lesbian friends that can...

I doubt youd ever really get any in your face, beyond camp style gays making it far in professional football either.

I don't think professional footballers would "come out" while they are playing you only have to go back to Robbie Fowler v Graham Le Saux, not that Le Saux was gay but he got the tag because he read The Guardian even in his own dressing room his team mates
thought he was odd but all it came down to was that he was more intelligent than most of them.Even in this day and age that mentality prevails
