Sanchez is better than Rodon and I’m not a fan of Sanchez at all.

Rodon was the cheap option when the club should have gone big and got Skriniar.

Rodon and Clarke are Championship players and hopefully both will be loaned out or sold in January.

Following that logic then Winks and Dele and Dier and Davies and and Sanchez and Clarke and Bergwijn and.... should all start much more often so we can sell them.

I ain't arguing any of our players should be humiliated or treated badly but we shouldn't be starting players who are a liability and imho Sanchez is exactly that.
And we have players in that position who have not really being given any real chances like Rodon.

Considering there was interest in Sanchez in the summer, to the point that Sevilla were willing to accept him as part of an offer for Jules Kounde, letting him rot is actively the worst thing we could do because we need him to be reasonably match fit to have him appeal to prospective buyers (and, on a similar note, I get the feeling that's why Clarke's been dropped to the U23s this season to keep him sharp for a potential loan)

Obviously there's examples of players who need to be kept on the sidelines as much for their benefit as anyone else's, which is the spot Dele is currently in because he's actively harming his own career as much as the team when he plays, yet ultimately players are assets and assets do need to be used if they can offer something to the team even if it;s a 30 minute cameo in a European dead rubber we're 5-0 up in

Jose increased Dele's chances of leaving, PSG literally wanted him last January and Dele was open to the move because of how little he was playing. Levy for some bizarre reason blocked it though.

Nah, Rodon > Sanchez for me.

Sanchez is a walking mess nowadays, almost a certainty he gives away a goalscoring chance every game.

You'll probably get your wish though, I think Rodon will try and seek an exit in January.

The treatment of Tanganga is also mystifying. Put in a couple of bad performances but no worse than many others. But to pick ahead of him a player who has only put in a couple of good performances in 4 years is unjustified.

I admire Nuno for banishing Dele and Winks but the same ruthlessness needs to be applied consistently and not directed at young players still learning the ropes.

Rodon will probably make less mistakes than Sanchez, I just feel that he’s a very limited player.

Sanchez playing here and there will hopefully trick people into thinking he’s half decent and the club can get a decent fee for him in January.

Romero, Dier and Tanganga won’t be enough going forward though so a CB is needed in January along with a CM and ST

Am I the only one that thinks Rodon's looked pretty decent when he's played?
Often used in pretty dubious lineups, too.

Because Desperate Dan is a transfer marker guru who signed Van der Vaart for £8m a decade ago. Hadn't you heard?

He'll get £90m for Dele, easy as piss for our Dan.

I don’t think he’s done much wrong tbh but I just don’t see him as anything but a average basic defender.

    4-4-2? Obviously haven't seen Roberts before, but I assume he's at right-back.

He has a lot a Dier's qualities but with better awareness of what's around him and generally less of a pillock.

Had a torrid time against Liverpool last season but then so do most defenders. Whenever I've seen him, he's often on his weaker side yet barely puts a foot wrong.

No idea what he's done to disappoint two managers.

Sadly these days "average basic defender" is quite step up from what we have.

And what wouldn't we give for an "average basic backup striker"?

We don't see a lot of him and we don't see him at all in training, but I don't get it either.
Dier's apparently being picked for his experience and language skills, which I can see some value in.
Not sure why Rodon's the one getting the ****ty end of the stick, though.

Genuinely happier to see Aaron Lennon than i am most of our team.

    It is so sad.

I think Sanchez is far more limited, not very good in possession and his only real asset is his pace.

Rodon seems a lot more grittier but also decent in possession. I think if we gave him games he'd get a lot, lot better.

No you're not, I've often thought he'd played well regardless of results.

It's why I can't get my head around how Sanchez and Dier have constantly been picked above him in the last 15-16 months.

But by being such a dick meant the fanbase was split into Team Dele and Team Jose No Mates, which actively made it harder to sell Dele as there'd have been a tsunami of moaning if we did

On the other hand we could have offloaded Sanchez in January with little fuss (if there was an offer, obviously) because he hadn't become such a political hot potato that selling him would have led to uproar at him being forced out by the human embodiment of a particularly bad Darkest Dungeon run

First team of the season to boo the knee against us, to any noticeable extent.
    Can't say that I'm surprised.
