Not at this stage, to be honest I wasn’t expecting a public announcement, sort of ****s on the non disclosure thing doesn’t it if it’s come from him?
Sunderland are also still carrying a lot of legacy contracts for current and ex players they signed on big money with no resale value. That amounts to significantly higher liability than we have. And I also disagree that we're just as likely to be a Championship club as them next season. We're by no means adrift and they're by no means looking promotion certainties. Besides, they've only been under new ownership about a year and they're not for sale, so it's not like you could just slap 30m on the table and buy Sunderland. You'd have to significantly over-pay and you'd be buying a huge can of worms financially to boot.
It hasn't though has it. There's no direct quote, it's just basically saying in Turkish what we already know. If they've paid a deposit then a deal is agreed. If Turkish press are anything like the British they could be just putting 2 and 2 together and being creative with a headline.
For me it's a good deal they are obviously happy with the financial outcome of the sale they are showing they want to own Hull City, they probably understand we are going nowhere this season and want to give it a go next season, it does not matter what Allam's want or get after ,the Allam's probably wanted more upfront for the club and they negotiated an add on so the Allam's sell, it may not have been the Allam's who asked for the add on but they may have asked for more than £30 million at the start.
We have heard all this positive speculation/rumour/wanting to believe spin before, and I seriously hope this has merit, however............
I did wonder whether Ehab ight buy Ferriby if he likes running a football club as much as he is reported to.
The add on is possibly as much about the Allams saving face as anything .... as in being able to say they sold it for £50 mill, getting every penny and more back, then if we don't go up it won't be their fault.
It's basically just having something in place to account for any potential short term increase in the current squad value. The encouraging thing is that they feel the new owners are likely to back us financially to the point that promotion in the next few years is going to be a real possibility
