I just hope there are no issues with the prospective owners test like last time a sale had progressed this far.
It’s weird how some footballers support clubs. Ben White recently came out and said he never watched football growing up, either live or on TV, as he was too busy playing it so he supports nobody. Carragher supported Everton as a kid as he was raised in an Everton-supporting household but switched to Liverpool when he started playing for their academy. I don’t even think Coyle supports City despite growing up here and now playing for us. My parents used to live next door to their family home and my old man did some joinery work for their old man. Think they all support Leeds. Nice lads though. Think the youngest (Rocco?) plays for City’s youth team. Forget the name of the golfer brother.
my memory maybe wrong but didnt Burnsy/Humberside say that the Allams deal to buy the club back in the day had fallen through, only for it to go through a couple of hours later.
Sadly that's just the norm in Hull. Most of the people I play football with in Hull don't support City. The next generation might be bit better thanks to the Premier League effect and whatever, but among my age group and older I'd say it's still only a small minority in Hull that actually support City.
He did say that yeah, and it was probably true at the time since as we now know, there were complications with debts and Allam ended up buying it without knowing exactly what he was buying finance-wise. It was the night we'd played Leeds away, drew 2-2 and we were all hoping for the takeover to happen. On the way home Burnsy was on the radio saying it sounded like it was off.
Let's face it. Anyone close to negotiations is probably going to play it down until its done - especially after last time with the Yongges failing the 'fit and proper' test. And besides all the Turkish article states is that a deal has been agreed in principle - which is what has been reported on here by those with club contacts. It'll happen if and when it happens. But it does seem to be progressing.
It was off. There was a split in the Allam family and it was Assem who got the final say and went ahead with the sale.
