I'm so much more excited for this match than a league game. Really looking forward to it. Hope the squad feel the same. What a great chance to get to the late stages of a cup. None of this slow attritional league stuff where teams can play for a point away from home for 70 minutes. Winner takes all, penalties if we have to. Two teams that are in form and playing good football. And it's an evening game so I can get there. Taking a few mates (one Sunderland) which will be fun too. Come on you Rs!
We have only been beaten by Premier League sides at this stage (since we last reached the quarters that is). That’s the positive and optimistic view. We haven’t won a 4th round match in over 30 years. That’s the alternative. Looking forward to it nonetheless. It’s on at a good time for watching - 6.45am - hoping there’s a stream somewhere. One of my mates is a Sunderland fan, he’s very optimistic about them so far. Says they have 2 first teams with plenty of skill and youth. Changed 9 players for the last round v Wigan and dominated. All set up for an interesting tie, but not too interesting I hope. URssssss
An entire generation haven’t seen us in as much as a poxy quarter-final. This is a huge game. We’ll definitely **** it up.
When you look at it like that it hurts and as you say its only a poxy quarter final, almost two generations that's just wrong. Trophies bring in/back more fans, more fans = progress, progress = a new 30K stadium. The Q Pi R theory (I think I am going to become a mathematician)
Game isn't being televised in the UK apparently, nor on QPR+ either, so doubt if there will be a stream? Hope it's put up on the Official early, soon after it's finished.
I'm well up for this match today. Feels more important than a league match, considering how far we could go.
Just made a last minute decision to come down, motivated by the fact my lad is going and will be meeting up with his Mackem mate pre match, which will involve numerous pints and the high risk he won’t make it back. This wouldn’t usually bother me, but he’s on jury duty and will be in contempt if he doesn’t turn up tomorrow, so safer that I drive, if we can find each other after the game. Plus, of course, the insane Sky monopoly on our games means I might not see another game until December. And naturally we are going to win this ****ing cup and get into Europe as a result. Be a part of history etc.
Just read Clive's preview.... for some reason getting a tad excited about tonight.... daft ain't it what a small club in W12 can do to you? C'mon Rangers
It seems we all share a common bond. We all have mates/work colleagues etc who are Sunderland fans. As long as we send them on their way suitably empty handed. I have a whole office full of the buggers including two secretaries so hoping to be able to show my face. Boro sorted. Sunderland - getting there. Just need to get a result when we next play the Toon. Seeing all of one shot at goal in three visits to St James' Park while we were in the Premier League can hardly be regarded as a worthwhile reward for the effort of walking up all those flights of steps to get to our seats.
Just hope most are wrong about crowd. Has to be Blackburn crowd + away fans ish. I am going for a 'bumper' 15555
