We need a Defensive Midfielder or even a decent Box to Box mf bare minimum. I think the CB situation aint as bad as being made out. A DM and a decent coaching team will have the defence sorted.

I'm just praying you lot don't sack him before we sack Nuno.

We're the type of ****ing idiots to go and hire/ approach Ole if he's sacked first and then we bin Nuno.

    Spursy written all over it.

Oh i know how good he can be, iv'e watched him since the very first game Jose brought him into and many of his games for France.
I also know he has stepped up to a harder league with a completely new partnership and will take time to find his best form. All that said, he has looked very shaky for a mature international and as of yet not shown any of the pace he has had before.

I haven't see anything of concern from his first few appearances.

Give him a chance ffs. Don't be too quick to judge. Look at Thiago Silva's first league games at Chelsea.

Conte apparently keen to take over it's being reported but no offers yet. The Board are still deciding whether to sack Ole.

The philosophy of constantly buying players had to stop. We got rid of various defenders and we have Bailly sitting on the bench. Yet we persisted with Lindelof and kept passionless Maguire as captain.

For anyone slagging Varane, I am certain that we wouldn't have conceded 9 goals if he started those games against Liverpool and Leicester.

We should go for Simeone. Now, that would be a great fit!

Sadly his position seems untenable. He is a hero of mine but the naivety of his selections followed by the cluelessness when faced with catastrophe unfolding in front him are unacceptable. So sorry for him but he just couldn’t cope with CR. A world figure which suddenly made him even smaller in the dressing room. What changed from him coping with big matches last couple of seasons and this? Ronaldo.

I think Conte will be appointed if only to steady the ship and he will probably last a couple of trophy less years.

So Ole spent £450m over the past 3 years and you still need 2 CBs and a DM? Perhaps you spend another £400k a week on wages for the likes Ronaldo and Varane a piece?

Literally spent £50m on AWB, £80m on Maguire, £35m on Shaw, £400k a week in wages to Varane, not to mention the feeds on Lindelof and Bailley....

But you still need 2 new CB's? ...

We don't need two centre backs, it's utter nonsense.

We need Varane fit next to Maguire and we then need Bailly as a reserve, bring Tuanzebe back, and push Lindelof further down the order.

A good idea would be to tell McTominay if he wants to play first team football to learn how to be a centre half, like he does for Scotland, as he'll never make the grade as a first choice centre midfielder.

We don't need a new DCM (well, ultimately we do but at the moment i'm making do with who we have), we need to change the formation to 4 3 3 where Fred can play the role of the person who breaks up play for the midfield. Then we need two ball players who can move the ball quickly through to the forwards, those two would be Fernandes and Pogba of the current squad, with van de Beek an obvious alternative to Pogba, when he finally leaves. Or before he leaves preferably.

And all of this needs coaching. By actual coaches and a proper manager.

The solution is not to buy even more players.

I agree with you. I think you have a good squad (but you definitely need a DM IMO) but it's all pointless without having a proper manager to coach them into a system.

Ole is and always has been out his depth.

I think for some it always is about the players. With all due respect to Diego, if he had been a Chelsea fan last season after Lampard was sacked he'd be one of those claiming they needed a new midfield and defence, whilst Tuchel showed all you need is a good manager to get the best out of an already very good squad. It's the same with United.

It looks like Ole's staying by the way, which I think personally is utter madness with Spurs, Atalanata and City games coming up. I can only see it being nothing less than death by a thousand cuts for Ole here. From what I've heard the main reason (and this is incredible in itself) is that the Board have only recently extended Ole's contract (back in July iirc) and Phelan's contract (2 weeks ago) and so to sack them would make the Board look like complete incompetents and highlight their own poor judgement <doh>

The irony of course is that by not sacking him now they simply compound the fact that they are completely incompetent and highlights even more their lack of good judgement <laugh>
