He looks good tbf. A good purchase.

I was thinking yesterday there's a good depth of squad being built there, which was exposed last year with injuries. Maybe lesson was learned by that experience.

Forgot to say, that's as maybe but last time he was there he was on the end of a 5-0 drubbing.

He played decent yday, showed a bit of nerves in the 1st 15 but settled well after, deffo needs bit of positional work but that will come with more game time. Got dragged out a few times early on going for tackles he didnt need to but vvd had a word and that soon stopped.

The Kid has all the materials to be an absolute beast tbh and hes got the best to learn from so it bodes well for his future.

Klopp deffo learned his lesson last year with injuries yeh mate, you saw it yday when after 5 nil he told the boys to just play it out and avoid any injuries.

Hes also been using his subs more often and a lot earlier than previous seasons ive noticed.

I still think our lack of a replacement for wijnaldum will tell. add to that Elliott being out for the season after cementing a starting place with some promising performances, plus practically everyone of our mids is made of glass so if were gonna lose the title it'll be because we still lack enough quality in the squad overall, especially when you compare with yourselves city and the chavs squad depths.

And none of em are getting younger tbf

There is a concern among senior members of the squad that Solskjaer is not up to scratch tactically, certainly in comparison to other top managers in the managers in the Premier League.

Having asked his players to implement a pressing style against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend, a number of players believed the team were not prepared to play in that way because they had not particularly focussed on the tactic in training in the days leading up to the game.

Assistant coach Kieran McKenna has played a more influential role in training this season - but it appears clear that the players - at least in terms of trying to playing a pressing style - are not responding.

Indeed, there is a growing acceptance from a number of players that the club’s fortunes on the pitch, which ultimately means winning trophies, is unlikely to improve while Solskjaer remains in charge.

There is said to be no animosity towards Solskjaer, not something that can be said about some of the head coach’s predecessors in the post Sir Alex Ferguson era.

But it is claimed there is an increasing feeling that the club will not revisit their former glories while the Norwegian is in charge.

Manchester United's players feel they are getting unfair criticism for a lack of tactical structure in the team, with a core now open to the idea of a managerial change after Sunday’s dismal 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains “liked” by most of the squad, there is a growing sense it has run its course as long-term issues have come crashing in over the last few weeks. Players have complained about the same problems affecting them again and again, which led to Liverpool being able to pick United off for a defeat of historic proportions.

Players are now openly discussing the possibility of whether a new manager would bring better results, and are conscious of the upswing that Chelsea saw after replacing Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel last January when the west London club went on to win the Champions League and are currently top of the Premier League after nine games.

This is something that has been mentioned at the top of the club, but the resolute line until Sunday was that the club would stick by Solskjaer. That stance is coming under huge pressure, especially with Antonio Conte’s camp making it known that he would be interested in coming to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer attempted to rally the players together after the defeat to Liverpool, but many were already attuned to the criticism outside. The manager faces a battle to keep the squad onside

I said theyd be fighting for 4th this season at best.

I reckon Ole will be safe until he lets us concede 6 or even 7 goals at home to the likes of Villa or someone <whistle>

Ole has spent very very well, if he get's a couple more in like Bellingham or summin before he goes the next guy will have a dream squad.

Yeh I'd be quite happy for him to stay at the club in the player recruitment side. He's done well overall in that regard.

To be fair i think he's been buying pretty well.

You have been telling everyone the defence is ****, the midfield is ****, theres no leaders and personality in the players so is his coaching **** and his buys good or are his buys **** and so he's not been able to shine as a coach :p

We still need 2 CBs and a real DM, other than that the squad is great.
Playing wise he has obviously lost any confidence the squad had in him, too nice and not enough nounce.

Oh, and we don't have a single leader in the squad unless you can name one.

Maguire yep, Varane has shown very little so far but maybe needs time in the league to adapt and a better partner.
