Thought we were lucky to get away with a point. Didn't see any difference to the way Jones set up, to Bruce. The possession statistics were dreadful. We looked better once Almiron came on. Sorely underated player considering he is trying to do his job in a side where his attacking abilities are basically disregarded and he is asked to play in a midfield role with predominantly defensive duties. Not sure why Jones doesn't just say **** it, I have probably 2-3 games in charge and I might as well try and play more positively (unless someone has told him he can keep his coaching role as long as he doesn't do anything stupid).
I have to agree and it would appear Jones has been far more of an influence on player selection etc than we thought.
I dunno I think the players are slightly distracted by all the **** going around - no idea who the next manager is, thinking they probably won't be playing here next season, the criticism from everyone etc. Jones just need to get their heads down and focus on actually playing, too many seem to not be fully switched on.
There was one big difference mind and it was that the long ball **** has been stopped. They were trying to play on the floor more
Not what I saw - I thought we were firing balls up to Wilson and St Max constantly - the problem was it was no way near them so didn't feel like attempted passes more like clearances.
Definitely wasn't done anywhere near as much.. There was no point with max Fraser and Wilson being up there. Lacelles is just useless and does it because he can't do anything else.
I would also suggest Jones is being unselfish.. Seems he's going to try and hand over a side that can at least defend
Agreed - and we score goals (1.1 p/g) it's just we are shipping over 2 goals a game - which is exactly why we haven't won a game yet. The defense is the biggest issue and needs the most work., GJ also suggested we were not good enough with the ball last week so I'm hoping he is working on transitions this week - win the ball back and then how we actually play football instead of hoofing it..
I definitely saw them trying to play, but lacelles is the biggest issue.. Any time he's anywhere near the play it goes wrong.
Part of the problem with Lascelles is that he is too slow on the ball. He thinks slowly, he moves slowly and then takes too long to pass the ball slowly. Been saying it for years.
