The not606 Toon 'clique'

Haha, people should get stuck in with the jokes here themselves! I've used forums online for years and this has certainly been a favourite of mine, folks here are a good laugh and have plenty to talk about alongside football. Would be boring as hell otherwise, all we'd have to talk about during the week or international breaks would be formation porn, contract negotiations or what Ranger has done next.

 

i wouldn't say there was a clique persay just that many of us have been on here long enough to 'know' each other a bit even when we don't really. just friendly with the regular rather than a clique i'd have said. i write plenty articles and most of them get a fair amount of hits but i'm nowhere near as prolific a poster as some. although i've been on here since the death of 606 i still haven;'t even hit 1000 posts yet.

 

I am totally in agreement with this! I joined on not606's first day too and while I have been an irregular poster myself, I have not noticed any cliques. To be honest, I think it is a bit weird that this should be brought up. Does the OP not have any non virtual mates?

 

i consider my Not606 homies to be similar to some of my xbox live mates. i've never met some of them but i'm pretty friendly with them.

I was a January 2011 member, wouldn't say I was particularly cliquey! I can understand how newcomers can feel with the 'in-jokes' etc. or by using people's original names, but that's not a clique thing or a 'we were here first thing' its just that if this forum is running all day everyday and you're not on here for 2 months, you're bound to miss a couple of funny threads.

I definitely felt a bit like that after Uganda and have had to ask what i've missed on a few occasions but I don't see how that is the fault of anyone else?

Probably because the Jan 2011 members all came across from the old 606 so we already posted with each other before that. Some of us like me for example didn't post as much on the old 606 as what we do on here. Then I think we became an online community and thats why I think that newer members have seen us as a 'clique'.

This. I was on original 606, but rarely posted enough to be considered a regular. When I joined here I didn't feel excluded.

If there is a 'january clique' then thats pretty much 80-90% of the regular posters anyway...

 

There are no cliques just familiarity between members. As a new member you don't get as many responses as others, but once you have contributed frequently enough to sensible debates and provide your own opinions people are more than welcoming.

I even got accepted on to a potential night out despite being on here for a few months so I'd hardly say there was a clique (although it got sabotaged by Tash, the bastard).

ask any newbie i doubt they'll say they feel excluded there is only one person i've known on here get hammered with his first post and it was that racist twat with the EDL plastered all over his profile and rightly so he got hammered,if anyone thinks there is a clique just go find the newbie threads saying hello they all get a warm welcome.
