Worried about more injuries, worried about who we can pick to go against a resurgent Arsenal. I wanted to have a go and go on a nice cup run but with already having 6 first teamers out and probably getting Kalvin back but losing Raphinha, we have to play cagey and in my view take fewer risks, so:

    Meslier

    Drameh, Cresswell, Cooper, Shackelton

    Struijk

    Summerville, Roberts, Forshaw, Miller

    Gelardt

    Meslier
    Shackleton Cresswell Struijk Dallas
    Phillips
    Summerville Roberts Forshaw Harrison
    Gelhardt

Plenty of experience to give them a good game and I feel like Shackleton could do with more time in the RB role and we don’t really have anyone else to fill in at LB so Dallas has to stay. Phillips for 60 mins to get some match fitness into him before Norwich. Summerville and Gelhardt rewarded with starts from the Wolves game and see how they get on before Norwich.

My lineup for Norwich would then be Meslier, Shackleton, Llorente, Cooper, Dallas, Phillips, Raphinha if fit Summerville if not, Klich, Rodrigo, James & Gelhardt.

The best thing about all these injuries and the progress made by Cresswell, Summerville and Gelhardt means that by the end of the year we will have a real fight for places.

Koch is back in rehab and doing plenty of work and due to be fully fit by Mid November
Paddy may be fit enough for Norwich but if not just another week
Phillips may get a few minutes against Arse but should start against Norwich
Raphinha will be back by the end of the month if hurt badly
Ayling isnt far away and should be back by the end of the month
Firpo will be back for Norwich or week after

Square pegging will end and we will have options in defence and midfield and up top. A brighter 2022 second half of season

spot on… the ‘blessing’ of the injuries is game time for youngsters to see who can step up and give genuine selection headaches when (if!) everyone is back. A few of our players are towards the tail-end of their careers so it’s good to have genuine coMpetition knocking on the door.

Think Meslier should sit this one out.

    Doubt that will happen though.

Do you know what feck it...it's only football.

    Meslier
    Shaks, Llorente, Cooper, Dallas
    Phillips,
    Klich, Rodrigo,
    Summerville, Joffy, Dan J

Bring Forshaw et al off the bench when we're 3-0 up.

To have a cup run is good for the club and the fans alike BUT our PL status is priority, the team i would put out is as follows:-
    Meslier
    Shacks, Cresswell, Llorente, Dallas
    Philips (Forshaw 2nd half)
    Summerville, Klich, Rodrigo, James
    Gelhardt
Make Philips Capt for 1st half pass it on to Llorente for second half.
Roberts on the bench so he gets the message, which is get your agent busy.
Sturijk for back four back up, still hope the lad gets over the injury and sending off.

    Meslier

    Drameh Struijk. Cooper. Dallas

    Phillips

    S-ville. Forshaw. Roberts. Harrison

    Geldhart

May seem unfair on Cresswell but we all agree that Struijk is the future of our cd. He is a year ahead of Cresswell so the perfect chsnce to get more time in the position we want to see him in.

Harrison needs the time more than James, who probably needs a rest anyway, to try and recover his form. He is not quite at the levels he has been at in the past.

One last chance as a starter for Roberts as well.
