In midfield the likes of Shelvey, Hayden, have digressed - possibly age possibly just now too comfortable. Longstaff I fear was never good, He got an easy ride to begin with because he was a local kid - same to an extent with Woodman this season and Matty last season. Hendrick is meh, Willock is last years Longstaff but smaller and more lightweight, Fraser is just a bag of ****e and put Joelinton in here too. Gayle can't be arsed anymore, ASM and Wilson and Dubravka are our only decent players currently. I don't see how you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear with any of the others unless Willock surprises me. I personally think his goals outshone his overall performances last year in which case how the **** did the scouting analysis not show this?
You have to remember that thanks to Bruce we're at a pre season stage. It'll take the side a few weeks to get to match fitness

As a bare minimum we need 2 cb's 2 cm's and a striker. Ideally I'd be adding a rwb a lwb and another striker. Problem you then have is intigrating them all in a short period of time. I'd forget signings from Spain, Italy, Germany and England in Jan. We could however plunder **** out of Belgium, Holland, France and Portugal.
