I agree with your post. When you came to our place, some posters accused us of roughing you up, I don't disagree with that view, it's true. Before us you had Pompey, they mashed their pitch up. Today you had Charlton, again they roughed you up. It sends a message to the other teams how to beat you, hence my earlier comment that other guy never agreed with about the slick/normal pitch. It's only going to get worse in the midst of winter, if they don't toughen up.
Premature? If you cant get excited from a new owner, changes in management, an entertaining young team and being second in the league at the start of play, then maybe football isnt your thing.
Yeah the bit I bolder was the ridiculous bit. Portsmouth didn’t show Charlton how to play against us at all. Portsmouth had a shot our keeper saved very well and touched around the post. Ball doing close to 40mph when it hit the ground before stopping dead. Right in front of a Portsmouth player. Portsmouth played the conditions better. Charlton just played better.
An entertaining young team is not going to win you L1, you need that in the Championship, not down here.
O'Nien had a thankless task today up against their number 9, who was taller, bigger, and got away with fouling him all the damn game. He didn't have a great game but nobody did and he shouldn't be singled out. He did ok in the circumstances.
Hopefully we can prove you wrong. We've tried older, experienced, lesser entertaining players and that got us nowhere.
Do you seriously not think that other teams are not watching videos of you. It would be the first thing I would be doing. Pompey played the conditions better, exactly, I wanted our groundsman to get out with the pitchfork before you arrived to us. We roughed you up, Charlton roughed you up, all comments from your own supporters, not me - then the pitch at Pompey, there is a pattern forming to beating you.
We were below par but dear me the officials had a really bad game. Sick of the sight of Charlton, always seem to carry an endless bag of luck against us ffs.
Football isn't celebrated in hindsight. Last Saturday and Tuesday were great, although different, and lessons are continually being learned. Rotherham will be different again as they'll have to attack and we have the players to counteract that. Every game is an adventure and I can't wait for the next one ... ... Tuesday away to a Championship team with a massive following. We'll probably coast it
Think he’s becoming a scapegoat. We have to have one so why not choose a lad who loves playing here and, on his day, is a very good league 1 midfielder. And some saying “not as good as Neil” ffs! 2 completely different players. Evans came on today and did nothing but get a yellow (although I’m not sure how bad the foul was as it was so late!!)
Today. Charlton better than us but cheating, fouling time wasting tw*ts. I hope the bus gets a puncture on the way home and they are delayed. SAFC very poor today. Officials. Useless incompetent bell ends. I hope the ref gets dysentery for a few months. Good night.
Ive never rated his ability but his passion, workrate and ability to get in opponents faces has made him what he is. Our only replacements are Evans and Winchester who is now our only RB which is pretty scarey really
You seem to have missed my earlier point, which stated we were on dreadful form before meeting you. It was even highlighted to you, after you had trouble reading our prediction thread oddly enough. Predictions of us losing 0-3 to you etc. So yeah you won, just, but there was a clear message to anyone wanting to beat you, you don't like being roughed up, and Charlton played that advantage today, remember them roughing you up was your own words!
All the officials down here are incompetent bell ends, and most the teams down here will time waste when playing you. Wouldn't you if you were in their shoes, but all fair points you make, and all very true - it's how you are going to deal with that as a team that matters.
