Great for Brighton, and a man called Potter, but also gives me hope and the feeling that, perhaps, money isn't everything in the game. My 1st away game was at the Goldstone ground around 1986. We lost 3-1. Left Washington on a supporters bus at midnight and got to Brighton for 9am. Great memories. Nothing bad to say about Brighton tbh.
We went to that and couldn't find a pub that'd let us in. We found a social club, opposite a building site, and told the fella on the door we were there for six months and liked a drink ... ... they took us in and put free sandwiches on
I'm sure there was a large field somewhere outside the ground we all played a game of football on. The Goldstone was a proper old ground.
