Just come on here to see the most recent posts and comments, and subsequently found out that we’re currently playing a football match. Had no idea. how’s the game been so far?
Painful but no less than I expected and it’s highly unlikely anyone from the bench will be able to change anything. Stupid decision leaving all of the first team at home.
0-0 HT. Not a lot to write home about. I'd like the manager to swap the wingers for the start of the 2nd half, then make subs if it doesn't work. Maybe get Markanday on for either Scarlett or Bergwijn.
I actually think Dele is now a poorer player than Winks. There… I said it. He’s just ****ing awful nowadays. What’s worse is that he’s also preventing Lo Celso playing in his preferred position, if Nuno had sense he’d get him off, get White or one of the Craig’s on, chuck Lo Celso at 10 and I wouldn’t be surprised if Scarlett then gets half a chance in front of goal. It’s easy to say Scarlett is out of his depth at the moment or getting bullied but he’s feeding off scraps, in fact he’s not even getting scraps. Get Dele off, leave him in Holland and accept a bag of chips for him in January.
My take on that first half... 1. Dele and Winks appear to have been beaten senseless with the "how to be a **** footballer" stick. 2. Short sleeves and gloves...really Tanganga... really? 3. WTF is that shirt about? 4. I had no idea that Bryan was Dutch for "feel free to kick lumps out of me". 5. No matter what country we wear that abomination of a shirt it still looks like an abomination of a shirt. 6. Sanchez has found his level...he looks average rather than shockingly bad. 7. How loud is that shirt? 8. I am beyond bored 9. Who designed that shirt ffs?
And regardless of the service - or lack of it - he is. 100% agree that he has little or nothing to work with, but he just doesn't have any presence about him. I hope I'm proved wrong and he has time on his side for now, but playing in this side isn't going to improve him. Might actually finish him before he's even started.
I'm not sure Sutton and Hoddle are being fair to the players, to be honest. I haven't seen any lack of desire or application from most of the team. They look like a number of them are lacking confidence and the hostile crowd affected them. They largely got over the nerves and calmed it down as the game went on. The defensive fullbacks and some square pegs again have been the issues, for me. We're lacking width, Winks and Lo Celso are trying not to push up too much and Scarlett's out of his depth. Gil's on the wrong side, Bergwijn's not fit and Alli's all over the place. Still wasn't as bad as I expected, to be honest.
I think both of our strikers have come in for unfair criticism this season because of the lack of service they’ve been getting in Nuno’s **** style (and selection). If a striker don’t get service they’ll generally have a poor game. I agree it’s wrong to play him in this team though because it’s wrecking his confidence and we probably will finish him before he gets started.
The smart player's choice. Warm hands, but ****s can't tug your sleeves on the blindside of the ref. Neil Ruddock always said that he loved playing against a striker with long sleeves. Says it all.
I don't get how he's ready for this, but Parrott isn't. The older, full international... Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he's out on loan. I'm not happy we're chucking a kid in, though.
