We do seem to be a ‘one-half’ team. Usually being a second-half comeback team to boot (highly frustrating as it usually means we have given an early lead gift to our opponents). Really don’t understand why this is and why we haven’t been able to fix it (similarly with our defensive frailties). MW and his support team do seem to be capable of changing things and rallying the players. Though it really would be much easier to take our own two-goal lead in at half time and then improve further. That all said, it was good to get the sun last night and bounce back. A positive result and keeps us in touch at the top. Stats (I know, I know) showed us to be very much on top of the game; and with Mowbray setting up to frustrate us it was good to see us overcome the tactics, score and hold out to close the game. Well done lads (and to ‘Unc’ for putting in a solid performance). On to Peterborough now and look to get those away wins back in place.
I can't see Cov staying there all season. I'd certainly have taken being where we are now, at this point, at the start of the season. We've played the 'top 3' away from home now and should have taken more from at least the WBA game. Come on you Rs!
Notes and queries: 1. I really don't get Barbet. Often the best player on the pitch but also regularly turns in nightmare performances such as last night when he doesn't seem to care where his passes end up. Surely someone/something can make his concentration more consistent. 2. I hate Mowbray and his ilk. 3. So we now know for sure that Odomah can still play more than a few minutes and can be hugely influential. What next Warburton? 4. Not for the first time we saw how Chair's talent can be nullified by close man-to-man marking. Shame for Blackburn they couldn't keep it up for 90 minutes. 5. It's not too long ago that our so-called fans keeping the ball in the crowd lost us a game in time added on. Do we need this moronic sh@t at QPR? 6. Did I mention I hate Mowbray?
I'd still like to see Uncle playing as an out and out winger, beating opponents and getting in the crosses we've been lacking. We looked so more threatening with him running at their defence. It was easily Willock's worst game for us and I'm wondering if he's lost his way a bit since Warburton used him at left wing back. It's not gonna be easy using all these players in their best roles but Warburton simply can't go back to Odebajo as he's not good enough defensively and offers nothing going forward. Also think it's time that Amos got a run in the side, so much more energy than Dozell. It could be time to give Johansen a rest as unfortunately Ball has to play until Field is fit
Didn't you are the pre-season game with Man U? Moses was absolutely brilliant in that game, scored a beaut, but apart from in one or two of the early games hasn't shown that quality since. He's got it in him to do a great job for us, but for some reason he's not been managing it. Looks like he's trying, so I"m hopefull the coaches can help him back to his summer form.
. I wonder if, after signing, he is playing to a "formula". He is told what to do...now he is our player. For instance I read that there was a preseason rule...no wing back received the ball in our own half. I wonder if he is playing to a plan
Good comments The timekeeping change would be radical in football, but I guess it is a good idea. Perhaps each half should be 40 minutes?
Am not sure as the match would have two clocks. The games clock and real time. These events would happen in final minutes of a long match,
I did see it of course, but that was a friendly agai st a team who were making their reappearances after holidays and the Euros ! He's not up to this league in physicality or talent, and just isn't a decent defender in my books. He's on a par with Kakay on the other side, and we will continue to leak goals with him in tge side. Alfred showed more in 35 mins last night going forward than he has all season. If he drops Adomah now citing he's tired after last night and that he needs to rotate the squad then I'll be ****ing fuming. I don't see Bournemouth rotating their much bigger squad, it's the same 13 players every game.
