I reckon it will be McGeady - he always seems to play whenever he’s 50/50. Personally I’d have Wearne as well

Steve Evans claims that Embletons red card should have been worth three , as I recall the player injured carried on , wouldn’t argue it was possibly a red card . The fact he is commenting is like the kettle calling the frying pan black , he is one of the most obnoxious Managers and has been for many years and I would be interested to know how many times he has been sent off himself . He always uses the same line of we are a small club with the smallest budget all the other teams are richer etc etc and the refs always favour our opponents , gets in the referees ear all the time , and consequently their heads . His teams are made up of bruisers who are devious and downright dirty so have a look closer to home!!!

Just when the lass on quest doing the highlights last night said "Sunderland haven't played a leauge game since a 4-0 defeat to Plymouth", I thought I must have been in a parallel universe. Shocking program that one.

Add to that a convicted criminal who should have been banned from football for a long time.

Makes it even more worthy of a yellow.

Just seen Embleton's tackle in real time, he did charge in and you can see why a red was given.

However the player wasn't hurt, the ref was very quick with the red, ie did not think about it and the gill's players reaction influenced him I reckon.

I would like to see 09's foul for the pen again I slow mo it looks harsh!

As for we were battered... the only goal they got was from a penalty.

Much further forward and it could've been a red

Talking to my dad about the red card and we both agree it won’t be overturned and we’d probably want a red against us.

sad reality is that the chances are if it had been a Gillingham player it’d have been a yellow at worst.

I thought the tension had made me overestimate the save by Hoffman ...

... looking at it again I think it's in the top 10 Sunderland saves I've seen live.

I like Frankie and Danny, not sure if that's the right thing to say.

I thought it was a straight red myself. Not sure there is any debate tbh. Mind you the Gills mgr saying it is 3 red cards shows his mentality - every extreme imaginable in football. He is as anit-football as I can remember and that club will go nowhere with him. They need to look at the likes or Plymouth and MK Dons for what is possible - lovely football on a budget. They would add a fans to their gates too.

To be honest i kicked off when i saw the red card but when i saw the offence again i calmed down abit. I dont think we can complain too much that it was a Red .
What concerns me most is our injury list because yesterday we looked pretty poor. Weve been so unlucky to see Broadhead and Huggins shine against Cheltenham which gave us all a huge boost and now they are both injured and never played since..
We can and will get promoted with this squad but if nature goes against us like yesterday it is not a certanty and the thought of another season as we are is scarey. We have 3 natural wingers and not one was available yesterday. Our injuries seriously confuse me??

It it frustrating with Broadhead and Huggins when they both looked like really good additions to the team but we only have 2 long term injuries - Willis and Huggins. The others should all be back within the next few weeks from what I've read, muscle injuries, minor knocks. Arby has already had some game time for the U23's and Hume was on the bench yesterday so it's not that bad - if only we had Diamond or Hawkes...
It was good to have Harris, Wearne & Sohna on the bench yesterday - hopefully they get a chance against Crewe.

That doesnt make me feel any better mate. Huggins injury means we have no right back cover. Willis is irrelevant now.
Broadhead looked class, he's still a week away from returning plus a few more to get to the level he wants.

Im still feeling flat mate sorry
