When i was young i had no sense i bought a flute for 50 pence, the only tune that i could play was **** Steve Bruce and the toon army, nanana nanana nananana nananana nananana nananana, nananananananana.... WE ARE SUNDERLAND SAY WE ARE SUNDERLAND!! ****ING COOMMME ONNN!!
Cheers for posting that Smug. Thought the Gillingham lad who commentated was quite reasonable and good to see the action without having to wait for the Club's highlights tomorra
Mentions the possibility of playing Hume out wide which is something that's been suggested on here for a while. It'd be interesting to see.
There's either something insidious with clubs like Gillingham that infects the manager, the whole team, support, etc .... ... or the grubbiness of the town and club attracts crass uncouth people like Steve Evans. Whatever the case it also gets into the minds of referees who allow themselves to be swept along with it all. I've no big problem with the penalty, or the red, but there's an imbalance with free kicks, etc. And when Gillingham went a goal ahead their time wasting was instant and blatant, the referee ignored it ... ... when we were ahead the Gillingham players were screaming at the referee, as we ran the clock down, and he colluded with them.
One of the fans forums was only talking about wanting their owner Scully out. Even had a plane flying about with a banner!
It was strange that the plane wasn't applauded and no chant went up, people just ignored it. They were 1-0 up at the time, may have been different if we were ahead.
Quite ironic really because the word 'battered', is usually how Evans describes how he likes his food.... https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...at-and-slams-elliot-embleton-red-card-3422154
Evans is claiming he had Johnson and Sunderland supporters saying 'we got away with that' at full time. He's a liar, that didn't happen.
I've thought long and hard about Embleton's replacement against Crewe and, for me, it has to be Wearne. He'll be full of confidence and not much younger than many of the Crewe side. Crewe will finish bottom, in my opinion, and we can't be going there with any fear ... ... it looks like it may be a choice between Hume who isn't really match fit or McGeady who's not played. I think Wearne is capable of playing anywhere north of holding midfield player and wouldn't hesitate to start him.
There defender also took out AOB and got away with it. He had zero intention of playing the ball. The refereeing in this league is rediculously bad. All we want is consistency - the ref let them get away with murder and yet couldnt wait to get his cards out for any fouls from our players.
Apparently Embleton should have got 3 red cards - according to Steve. it was late and a bit reckless but I'm sure that the Gills man made a miraculous recovery from his double leg breaking tackle after rolling around for a few minutes.
