Question for you all. I want to see what your thoughts are. What in your opinion is the most important addition to happen first under the new regime and who would you choose and reasons? So mine is DoF. I would choose Rangnick. And the reasons are that he has a proven track record and his ethos is genpress which I like. Over to you chaps.
I would agree with DOF and would go with Rangnick or Campos. Same reason for Rangnick and Campos for his eye in spotting a gem. I would then like a new manager and coaching team appointed and then after that anything to get that clown Shola out the club.
I agree, that whoever is going to sort this **** out is instilled. There's **** all we can do about the XI getting on the pitch, really, they're an average bunch but with this bit of positivity should pick up results to get out the danger zone. A better coach of course would be a huge help, but that coach needs to have a rapport with the DoF or Sporting Director so getting that appointment in first is absolutely imperative. I don't think any of us really have a lot of knowledge of the world of Sporting Directors, but I would probably take Luis Campos because of his ability to identify talented players, early, which is an area we've been absolutely abysmal in for years (Max aside). Of course I'd be just as happy with Ralf Rangnick, who has a similar track record, and a few other shouts would be the real up and coming Michael Edwards (leaving Liverpool this season), Monchi or Michael Emenalo. All of them are critical and their thumbs up on a subsequent managerial appointment is what we need - from there, it's simply not as important and I'd then trust to the decision, even if it was a Steven Gerrard or Eddie Howe type. However, I suspect it'll be someone with more clout and from the continent as they're used to the DoF model, again pointing towards Emery, Favre, Jardim, etc.
Agree. Get that top position filled and it makes everything else so much easier. I actually am surprised that has not been resolved yet and I hope it does soon. They can’t really do much more until it is. It is also means we keep Bruce for longer. Get that DoF in first and he then appoints his manager who has similar thoughts on things. Then my third appointment is a Commercial Director and team. This is nearly as important as the DoF. This is how we grow the club organically.
