"were was based on real life intelligence" Vague generic guidance that they could use to suit their own agenda .... which they took advantage of to piss people off and once again take the 'community asset' further away from the community. When it comes to City and the SMC, they are vindictive ****s.
Unfortunately, though the claim was that it was 'based upon real life intelligence', intelligence seemed sadly lacking and the response to my questions about any terrorist being able to walk up from any other direction or jump over any gate, were just met with blank stares. The claim that it was advice from North East Counter Terrorism Unit was also misleading, it suggests some crack team was going round checking premises, when in fact it was just a copper in each police force that was given extra CT training and appointed to pass on current threat levels etc. The advice highlighting the need for extra vigilance in places where large numbers of people congregated was not only applied to the KCOM, the same advice was given to Hull City Council with regard to Victoria Square and the Fruit Market, but led to no action being taken (the Guildhall gates were primarily put up for the protection of staff, who regularly work into the night and because they had a load of bikes nicked from the car park, rather than any imminent terrorist threat).
Make your mind up mate?. One minute he's as tight as two coats of paint and refuses to spend a coin,the next he's flinging money around to piss people off...
If you're genuinely stating that you've never accused them of being tight wads then you have my apology..
I've called them many things but I don't ever recall 'tight' (or versions of) being one of them. Accepted.
I think the Allams have always been quite consistent in being prepared to spend money when it comes to personal vendettas. Just ask Rollits.
