I'd like to see that team play Manchester City.

It was very weak at that point, but it was because of injuries, key players being dropped having showed they didn't care and Iain Dowie, and they still drew with Liverpool. Thinking about it we could have had a decent XI at times, if we ever played it:

    Myhill
    Mendy Zayatte Mouyokolo Dawson
    Garcia Bullard Boateng Hunt
    JVoH Altidore

We could have stayed up if we sometimes played our best team instead of the nonsensical selections we were often treat to.

That is a good team and agree that if played often enough it would probably have got us enough points to stay up. That team is certainly no worse than what Wolves or Wigan had at that time. But alas it didn't happen and we've made a fantastic transition to where we are now from the team we came down with and started last season with. And to think a minority of people were criticising NP for wanting to get rid of the old pl players to bring his old players!

If you offered me the chance to put any of them in our team on Saturday, I'd only take Myhill and Altidore. Possibly Hunt but only because of injuries!

Surely not even Tony Warner's Wanger would change our central midfield at the moment!

good work man. yes niot much there you would want back is there. to think that Hull City were un-lucky in that game as well. 2-2 draw. shows how bad wigan were and are now. of the ones that have gone full stop maybe Myhill and Moyokoulo if someone could get him interested but only if they were cheap.

Geovanni, JVH, Hunt & Mouyokolo.. and maybe Myhill as GK cover.

Geo was probably the most technically gifted player ever to play for City alongside Jay Jay.

    JVH is better than Dele

Hunt or Brady though, might actually back youth here..

Mouyokolo as CB cover but wouldn't split up Hobbs & Chester at the mo..

Only one I'd start would be Geovanni though..

    good present team innit?

come off it what would Altidore give us? he only ever scored once..

you're not seriously suggesting you'd pick Bo over the current form of Basso neither??

Jozy's found his shooting boots, five goals in twelve games for AZ Alkmaar this season.

I wouldn't swap Bo for Basso either.

He always showed promise to anyone who understood football, it was just the daft fans who judge strikers solely on goals scored (particularly silly when the striker is 19) that couldn't see what he gave us.

Josy would have gone down a storm in the Chamionship for us, I just wonder what the wage difference is between Alkmaar and the Championship?

Wieghing them up against each other:
    Duke/Basso - Basso
Dawson/Dudgeon - Prefer Dudgeon myself, Daws has lost his legs, and checks inside too much for my liking
    Kilbane/Chester - Chester in a heartbeat
Gardner/Hobbs - Gardner is no doubt clas, but injury prone, Hobbs for me
Mouyo/Roseinor - Rosey for me, would have Mouyo back for cover though
Atkinson/Pulsic - Pulsic (add to that Stewart, or any of our other wingers we now have)
Boateng/Evans - Boateng a great player in his day but no legs, close call with Evans who is developing well (would have Cairney or McKenna first though)
Cairney/Koren - Close one, Koren has the experience though so will give it to him, just
Mendy/Bradey - Not even close, Bradey
JVH - Waghorn - Again Waghorn, mobile, strong, and hardworking
    Cullen/Fryatt - again no contest

amazing isn't it? we've got a completely younger, hungrier, more skillful team..

only error on your list is that Mouyokolo only played RB once I think and was found out, his real position is CB, but there again wouldn't break up Chessie & Hobbs but I'd put him on bench.
