It seems a little improbable that showing a QR code at a restaurant makes a nine-fold difference; and the French eat out a lot more than us Brits. According to Statista, the UK has performed over 4.5m tests per million of population compared to 2.2m for France, 1.6m for Italy, 1.4m for Spain and 2.0m for the USA. Since May we have also been fiddling with the numbers by removing people from the count three days later if they were recorded positive on the quick lateral flow test but subsequently were negative on a PCR test.
‘Frightened mongs’ have some way to go down to get to the level of brain dead conspiracy theorists. What a surprise that more people who have been vaccinated are testing positive than people who have not been vaccinated, given that the former group is far and away the largest. We have known for a long time that having a vaccine does not stop you carrying the plague but it vastly improves your prospects of avoiding serious illness and hospitalisation. Conspiracy theorists just love to miss out the facts that do not suit their agenda.
