They are but now people arriving from Brazil don't have to isolate there's still a slight chance of him being involved. I would imagine he'll be on the bench at best.
I`ve only been to one Saints-Leeds game, and that was 3-2 Saints when Leeds had Alan Smith sent off. Similar again please Saints ! We were very good that day!
Raphina will probably fly back in ultra-luxury class, and be given a full-length bed on the plane, but he'd still be jet lagged. It will be like any Sunday morning match, after a good (ie drunken) night out. He'll probably forget his boots, and end up wearing odd socks, and shorts three sizes too big.
Hopefully none! They are good enough. They just need a break to get the run going. At least we appear to have shored the defence up.
Huh? I thought you said Raphinha was a definite non-starter as he would be in Brazil or something along those lines?
He's got 36 hours or something to play in Brazil and line up against us. Pray for bad weather or something.
The ‘x isn’t good enough’ is a pub man’s argument. All of our players can play at this level. Everyone was saying McCarthy isn’t good enough but look, with a little bit of work on the defence, he’s become one of our better players this season. Wasn’t too long ago that Redmond was improving a lot and really starting to look the business. Did he just lose his technical skills overnight? Obviously not. Would seem to me more like we have no attacking plan, other than to harass the opposition defenders. The strikers make runs but the passes aren’t made. We have Romeu arriving at the edge of the box instead of JWP. There are too many aimless long balls. We still haven’t seen the KWP-Tino combo. And so on. I complain a lot about Djenepo, but I still think there is a player in there. Just needs the right coaching.
Raphinha started for Brazil last night and played most of the match (scoring twice I might add). That pretty much rules him out I would think.
Completely disagree - what makes you think that all of our players are good enough for this level? Also, when was it Redmond was "looking the business"? I recall a good performance against championship opposition last season and then not much else. The fact we are even calling for Tino to move further forward just shows that our attacking midfield players aren't good enough. Aside from Stu Armstrong, I don't think we have one no.10 type player that is good enough to excel in the premier league.
When Ralph joined us and we looked an excellent team for almost the whole of 2020. Redmond was one of our key players back then. Yes I want Tino to be given a shot on the wing too. But what happens if he has a few quiet games? Suddenly he’s not good enough! Take a look at Everton. Players like Demarai Gray (who cost less than £2m), Townsend, Rondon; players that had we been rumored to buy, would have been considered underwhelming. Yet they are good enough for a top 8 team and a coach like Benitez. He’s even playing Tom Davies who everyone on here regards as not good enough. Ralph has coached this squad into a decent team before. It can be done again. By him though? That for me is the question.
Yes, by him. I posted a list and link from odds checker with Howe, Lampard and Pardew the shortest odds. None of them or the rest is an upgrade on Ralph in my extremely unhumble opinion.
Okay, but Ralph wasn’t on any bookmaker’s list when we all wanted shot of Hughes. If we don’t get more than 6 points from the next 5 games, I think it’s time.
I disagree as I think that the likes of Redders, Moussa, Mo El and Theo have got into good positions but as you also say they do not make the right pass or cross to the strikers at the right time and very often when they choose to run at the defence it is down a cul-de-sac with their heads down. I know that a lot of faith and hope is being placed at Stuey's door but his return to the team is very much needed even if it may take time for him to get up to speed but we can rely on him the make good intelligent runs and passes. I also think that Tella should be given a run either to replace the injured Che or on the left as he is a big talent that needs game time to develop and probably would be as least as effective now as other options.
I wouldn't be completely against Eddie Howe or Frank Lampard coming here if Ralph were to go (I don't want him to yet!).
If push came to shove those two would be on my shortlist. Also I note Ralph didn't feature before he was signed up. Anyway it's focus on tomorrow's game for me, enough new manager speculation.
