Don’t start taking the piss out of me for quoting what I believe to be the truth about Bruce’s contract. It’s not really a good thing is it.
There is no common sense in Ashley’s world. The contract exists and it’s real. It’s bonkers and I hate it also: but it’s the reason why he is still most likely going to be sat in the dugout on Sunday. If you can give me a good reason why he isn’t gone already then I’m happy with my beliefs.
Alright mate, go have some Earl Grey. Problem is what you've said makes no sense to me as far as contract law is concerned or employment law from my experiences with them.
I believe an agreement has been reached that will see Steve Bruce manage his final game on Sunday and retire from football management to become a full time fiction author. I believe the club's new owners have seen this as a win win. They look like nice people with Steve's buddy's in the press, Bruce saves face - win, win on all sides.
Yes you: I’ve blocked you and can’t read your posts. For bullying. FFS of course I have not lol. I wouldn’t be reading this would I.
People should not belittle people’s beliefs on whatever topic it is. You can disagree on a point of opinion because that is what it is. But a line exists between disagreeing and taking the piss out of someone for their beliefs and that my friend is what happened here. Not by your good self mind.
Today will be the most revealing aspect of Steve Bruce. If he has a soul - which I doubt - he'll talk of some kind of moving on, that he's happy to keep steering the ship until suitable replacements are found, that he's delighted the club has a new found impetus, etc. If he does what Roy suggests, then he's every bit the thundercunt many of us thought he was, not the "nice bloke" so many of his media chums portray and should be put down. It's a big play this, because if the new owners allow him to be all bluster and bravado in front of the cameras this lunchtime, with headlines like "defiant Bruce wants a chance", they're put themselves in a bit of a weird position. For many, a poor lunchtime presser will come across as "well, what's changed apart from the name above the door?" I understand this smacks of impatience, but it was an easy win for the new owners regardless of stability, nice-ness, etc.
Not only is the contract bonkers. We also paid Sheffield Wednesday 3.5m for the Dosser. And guess what. It was a contractual obligation that many believe Bruce himself leaked to NUFC. The man is only really interested in money money money. He is screwing the club one final time. He will get over £8m when he leaves.
I'm looking forward to it. He can't do his usual bollox of talking down the team, talking up the opposition, being against the pump or any of his usual diversionary tactics. He will be bombarded with questions on his managerial record, what makes him think he can take the club forward? Is he aware of the fan poll? etc. etc.
